• More Than A Friend, Indeed

    There are times, when life is happy,
    Then times I ask God "Why?"
    Times when I laugh and smile,
    But times I only cry.
    But I just want to say,
    To the one God sends to help…

    Thank you for making me smile
    when there’s no hope,
    Shining the sun on the situation,
    When rain clouds my mind,
    And I cannot forget, Thank you
    For caring for me, enough so I can see,
    That life is a challenge that we must accept,
    Even when drowning, deep in a blue sea.

    Sometimes, I know I complain just because,
    And sometimes nothing’s ever enough.
    I know I have my flaws,
    But you push them aside.
    To make me open my eyes,
    A new light is shown when you listen in.

    Thank you for being the one who always
    Brings kindness against pain,
    For helping me believe,
    “The battle’s already won, you see?”
    For keeping me going on, and
    Picking me up when I fall.
    I know that it’s not pretend,
    That’s the art of a true friend.

    Thank you for keeping me sane,
    With all the simple things you say,
    Even when I make things difficult,
    Thank you for never giving up on me.

    I know we’re far apart,
    But you’re always so close in my heart,
    I hope you know,
    I like to think you are my everything.

    Sometimes in life there are ups and downs,
    Such turbulence, and thoughts
    Of the unsound.
    However thankfully there is a God,
    Who sends angels to Earth’s ground.

    You know, you’re somewhat amazing,
    Even if you do not say,
    Thank you for being my angel,
    I don’t know how to thank you everyday.

    Thank you for helping me write a new song,
    One that only my life can sing,
    Thank you for telling me nothing’s too wrong,
    And that I can do any and everything.

    Many words can fill a page,
    I can’t find only one to describe you,
    So as I list things accordingly,
    Most of all,
    Thank you.
    For you’re not just some type of friend,
    You are more like a part of me.
