• "I Know This One Girl" A Short Story By: Dan Lamb

(A short stroy about a Tornado falling in love with a Thunderstorm)

I know this one girl in the world whose smile is dark and flinty, and her face has such beautiful expressions. I am one of many ripples that her raindrops call upon. I get lost in her sight has she leaves me as quick as she came. I become the wind and I begin to follow her but not...hing could prepare the sight of her infinite storm. I soon get lost looking for the nothingness I call love. For I am the black wind howling her name. I become cold and rampant. Losing my once hollow, broken heart. Now in captivity by your dark and flinty smile. I begin to think that the fates are cruel, there are no dreams, and no honor remains. I sail quietly but surely on your broken path of torment. Did you not remember that you created me, my love, and my dreams? My hope soars with the clouds that have nothing to give. Thier voices just get lost in the pale-blue sky. My adventurous soul begins to take its own shape. I am the Darkness created by your Light. Where had the girl I fell in love with went? I longed for her joyful tears, and her dark stormy eyes that I longed to see once more. The song of your rain lingered with me for so long. As I see a darken cloud ahead, my wintry gaze becomes a wind full on haste. I Begin to soar faster and faster and I notice more clouds begin follow me. I didn't care. All I could think about was seeing my forgotten love but nothing could prepare me for your infinite strom. Your dark, flinty smile was gone. All I saw was the flash of your rage. The lights, too much to see. I called you the only named I have known you by. "My love." I said. "My love, I am here." She continued to ignore me. My love had abandoned me. With her rage, I grew angry myself. I began to form a funnel of rage within myself from the clouds that had followed me. "Why do you not love me?" I screamed. "Why did you leave me in the dark?" I said with increasing heartache. She only continue to have more rage. It made my newest creation of heartache even stronger. Back and forth, we laid mayhem and chaos in our path. Her flashing lights set my friends of green ablaze. Tired and calm, we were. As our rage descended, she finally spoke. "Who are you?" she had said. Confused and flustered I answered; "Why have you ignored me my love?" She could only stare blankly in my empty eyes but had finally said. "I wanted us to be the perfect storm, for you see you and I, we make the sky." "Then come my love let's make the sky." I said.
