I am a silly, little, drawing on an old, worn-out, desk that is in need of washing. I wonder often about what my purpose is or rather why I'm even here. I hear the thoughts of others when they look at me, but only when I choose to listen. I see the lyrics, of each song that plays, dance through the air in beautiful harmony. I want to see a child, one that has a hard life and understands that not everything will be alright; yet, they are still able to smile, laugh even, to shatter the dark world that surrounds them and feel happiness.
I am a strong, sturdy, tree standing proud against the harsh cruelties of winter. I pretend that bubble never pop, nor bright balloons ever deflate, so that in my mind they float on for the rest of eternity. I feel that, even when I'm alone, or no one seems to care, and there is a dark cloud looming over me, it could always be worse. I touch the blinding spectrum that is the rainbow because no matter how real and everlasting it seems, at any moment it can be gone. I worry about all who are close to me; without them, my life would be monotonous. I cry over the most insignificant insults because they are the ones I hear the least.
I am a fragile piece of china falling down from the highest shelf only to shatter upon impact. I understand that I can help change the world, but that it would take all of us to fix it. I say that it is better to make your own path than to take the one already made for you. I dream of the day we can learn to tolerate each other and put aside the differences we choose to judge. I am a human being.

- Title: I Am
- Artist: Your Own Personal Hell
- Description: This is an original "I Am" poem done by me for my English II class as an assignment. This is different than the usual "I Am" that you see because the format was made by my teacher. I hope that you enjoy reading it.
