I am from the noisy widescreen TV
From Hurley
And the PS3
I am from the attic, dark, scary, mysterious,
and the feel of ants crawling on your hands
I am from the proud willow tree,
The myna birds
I am from Christmas Arizona trips
And black hair
From Tonya and Mark
And Yanai
I am from the screeching volleyball courts
And the basketball courts
From, “Eat your vegetables!”
And, “Don’t act like a two year old!”
I’m from blazing Tempe, Arizona
Sushi and chow mein
I’m from the time when I got chased by a rabies cat
That dark night dragged on
I am from the storage box full of ancient and precious family faces.
