• Two lions tear apart the meat
    Clenched between their jaws
    Ripping shreds and chuncks apart
    Bloodying their claws

Eating what it is they won
    Sharing their prize with themselves
    Hiding it from all around
Giving it to no one else

Flecks of red upon their fur
Are all left of their kill
Many see this and are amazed
    At the lion's skill

Sadly no one cares for the deer
That had to give it's life
    Torn apart by lion teeth
As it had lost the fight

All a deer can do is run
    Run fast into the wind
And if the lions grips it's neck
There is no way to win

Though no one cares for this struggle
    No one sees the carnage
    They are all too fascinated
    By the lions courage

Though I can see the truth
    The battle on both sides
    Most do not care
That this is part of life

That all our battles end in this
    In blood upon our cheeks
It is invisible and it is their
    Never to be cleaned

All the wars and all the death
    Are just another game
Like the lions in the wild
    Never to be tamed
