I'm standing in my house alone
and staring at some cream,
When suddenly, a thought occurs,
and rightly I do scream.
"It's Valentine's!" I do declare,
that day of the unseen;
of love, romance, and candy bars,
and happiness, it seems.
But lo, behold, I was alone,
and I dared not to dream
of buying cards, and lovers' rings,
and strawberry ice cream.
This yearly day of loveliness
has left me out of theme.
But in myself, how I do rage
against the love machine!
To Hell with Cupid, and Capone,
and all this day's regime!
I'd put them all against a wall
before a firing team!
The pink waters do rush and roar,
yet I stand up supreme.
For in the darkness of my heart
it's but a lonely beam.
My skies grow bright, here comes midnight,
an ally, as I deem.
Now with the first, I've slayed V-day
with prejudice extreme.
I sit down at my computer,
and my coffee does steam.
I need not hurry, nor have worry.
Valentine's is reamed.

Description:
A lil' sumthin' I came up with the day after Valentine's. I was gonna' make a sobby poem, but then I remembered that there's too much of that on Gaia, and that I need to stand out!
So, two day's after the 14th, I submit this lyrical, and say "Screw that cherub with the arrows." Maybe I'm just bitter 'cause I spend that day alone every year, but still, I'm mad, hombre.
Oh, and the name comes from the fact that I forgot to make an annual Valentine's poem. - Date: 02/16/2010
