I didn’t trust you
But I began to open up
I thought you meant well
I let my guard down
For that I hate myself
Now I know it was part of your twisted plan
Your lie, your deceit, your fakeness
You weren’t trying to be a father
You wanted me to fall into your trap
To be your pawn
On the phone and in letters
You always say that you love me
That I am your daughter
But I know that if I died tomorrow
You wouldn’t care in fact
All you care about is material things
I’m sorry I am a part of you
If I could eliminate your DNA from me
I would but I can’t
I’m sorry I am such I burden
I wish you could wake up and be a dad
But you are not capable
You’re stuck in your petty, childish ways
I’m sorry I ever tried to enter your life
To mend the deserted road
I should have left it alone
If I had I wouldn’t be carrying the stress
You cause me
I should have listened to those around me
And for that I’m sorry

Description:
This is a poem about a dad who really isn't there for his daughter and has never been a good father- figure like most dads. Please Comment!!! I hope it is not too depressing.
I guess I didn't explain it well enough. Anyway, the daughter gets in contact with him and thinks that he is changing and wants to be there for her but he isn't and he plans on essentially stabbing her in the back. (BTW, he hasn't talk to her for years.) - Date: 01/01/2010

Actually, the structure reflects the girls feelings, she is faling apart from her stress and she can't smooth over all the problems and thoughts that keep popping into her head.
I loved this poem, although the topic was a little sad for my tastes. It's different from the poems I am currently studying and I'm soooooo glad of that!! - Report As Spam

- The topic isn't bad, and the idea isn't either. The problem is on how you constructed it...you should pull it together a bit more, and smooth it out so it connects better smile

- A little too much for me, I couldn't really focus on what you were trying to get out of this poetry, Poetry is an art. Don't act like it's not. sad 2/5
