I write from the shadows
Thinking of my friend
Wondering
Only one source of light
Wondering if he's reading the messages I send
I turn my back on family
Searching for something new
Gazing at the world
Turning my back on it
As I think of what it's come to
Knowing nothing can save me
Never having enough
Of what you call life
Then I realized what you need
For every life there is love
My mind goes blank
As the world slips by
Time never stopping
Rewinding, pausing
Even when I try
Knowing death is the only mercy
The only mercy I ever knew
Yet, there wasn't any
Thinking why
Late past my curfew
I hear the clock ticking
But I never see the hands
Numbers mocking me
Tracing the outlines,
Of the timeless strands

- emotional but I believe turning your back on people actually saves you in some casses. Words can hurt more than a knife cutting your wrist. I know and After all you've written you know too. I liked this poem because it describes how people who are well....unique and sensitive feel. No one anymore cares about others. It isn't fair that people who are different are tortured. We cant do anything about it now but we shall one day.
