The snow keeps falling
It clings to the frozen grass
I dressed in a tattered dress
and my dolly no better.
I'm cold
I sit here waiting for some noise
Some sign of life beyond the snow that's falling
I wait where my mother left
and promised me she would come back
I'm cold
Reality sinks in
And I realize she's not coming
She told me she loved me
That i was her life and love
I'm cold
No longer do I hold back the lump in my throat
The tears quickly freeze on my face
In three days I will be ten
I fear I will no make it.
Sleep Slowly over takes me
I slip to the ground
The snow covers me like a blanket
It's okay you don't have to worry
I'm not cold anymore.

Description:
A child sits in the snow waiting for her mother to return. But she won't. And the sad thing is that she know she never will. if she were small, she would only think her mother came to late.
This is what winter brings for some. This is my tribute to the winter holidays. The other side of the celebration. - Date: 11/29/2009
