• The earth was so cold,
The city sparkled with artificial lights,
The snow was soft and crunched under my boots,
I was lost, in an unknown city, lost in an unfamiliar place.
I was so scared, cold and little, my heart raced.
The scent of liquor seemed to travel around the sidewalks.
People sung hearty songs of merriment, out of tune.
I grasped my cross I wore, and prayed for my family.
The air seemed to still, and foot steeps crunched behind me,
There was laughter, and the air was thick with the stench of beer,
I speed up my pace, but singing began behind me,
Lucky, lucky, twas the sweet little maidens on this Christmas day!!
The singing got louder and louder and I ran, but only to find myself fallen.
I woke, so cold, in the snow, innocenceā€¦at a loss.
