• A loud gunshot rang through the air
Everyone lowered their heads in prayer
The war for freedom had just begun
    Underneath this mid day sun
A cry for help echoed in my ears
A child wept a mother dried his tears
The war for rights had just begun
    Underneath this mid day sun
A soldier fell in front of my eyes
I heard the enemies battle cries
A shot rang out and through the years
We sent young men, those volunteers
Out to die for our own blunders
And then one asks why and wonders
Why our boys are dead and gone
A shot rang out today at dawn
As we look on with yawn
We stopped caring what happens next
It really is not so complex
War is a meaningles thing to do
But our boys will always follow through
