Cigarette smoke amidst the falling rain
to stain and stale, but not refrain
each bead to dive, burst open, unite
her heart pace accelerates
A metronome
a second home
where my baby used to lay
Umbrella kisses, the best intentions
let's coalesce on leafy blades
despite decisions that we've delayed
Back up the stairs, A fortress out of sheets
two spoons lay here to share their heat
A fox and her fellow
lock lipped
with spines entwined
three words spoken, two hearts broken
and Soundless I swallow each good-bye
Keep me from digesting this beauty undressing
again again again, we cry.

- Very nice! An overused subject, but your words make it interesting. Love the detail of cigarette smoke in rain to start it off, the numbers in fourth to last line, and repetition of 'again.' I would suggest 'a fortress of sheets' instead of 'a fortress out of sheets' and other such small details, sometimes it's a little wordy. Awesome poem!
