-
A broken doll lay amongst the rubble
Porcelain skin cracked and dirty
The silky hair matted in clumps
The lace and velvet ripped and stained
Glass eyes staring up at the smoke filled sky
Bombs still exploded in the distance
Children had been forced underground
Men and women stood weeping
For this one little doll did not make it underground.
