Why do humans fear death?
Is it because they are naturally foolish?
Or because they don't want to lose their friends?
Or is it simply because they know
all they would be losing?
Why do humans fear death?
This answer, I do not know.
But I can speak for myself.
Because I too fear that bottomless hole.
That endless slumber from which you never return.
Maybe after you die
there is another world next
Some people claim and believe
there is heaven and hell.
But how to be sure it is real?
The doubt remains.
Why do humans fear death so?
that cloaked figure with the scythe.
Maybe it is because death is our greatest foe.
It stalks us day by day
and strikes at the end of our time.
It is inevitable. We cannot defend ourselves.
Time takes its toll. We age.
And Death draws closer.
Oh if only this could change.
So they wish.
Why do humans fear death?
If then they will be in peace.
Why do they fear the coming of that day?
If then they will be free.
