Je t'aime,
And the coffee is getting colder,
As it sits on the windowsill,
Created, Sipped, Ignored.
Oh how we intertwined.
Il m'aime,
And the smoke from our cigarettes,
Drifts across the room,
Lit, Breathed, Let go.
Then he kissed me.
And those kisses tasted,
Like summer and the rain,
You said I could come over again,
And those promises,
Well we wrote them on Post-It Notes,
Stuck them on your dirty walls,
Leaving the marker pen on the bed,
The ink spilled and later you said,
"The stars, they can't shine as bright as you do."
And I laughed, I never was the romantic type,
But i'm starting to wonder if that's true,
As I google how to say I love you,
In a hundred languages.

Description:
This poem is the result of a few songs I was listening to as I was waiting for a certain someone to get home from work.
"Coffee & Cigarettes" - Augustana (It fits, cause we both smoke and like coffee, like an old married couple xD)
And "What Sarah Said" - Death Cab For Cutie (In the video the girl writes 'Il m'aime (He loves me) on the mirror, so thats where the french came from.
There isn't really a rhyme or many poetic techniques, it's just an expression of how I feel. - Date: 03/21/2009
