• One Nation, Indivisible.

    We don’t understand.
    We don’t understand.
    All the tornadoes stole away our roots.
    We’re left with bruised feet,
    But not a road left un-crumpled.

    They walked their way down,
    the angles from the sky,
    with momentum on their spiraling wings,
    speaking rapture,
    screaming “forgive us!”.
    Little feet run from the blaring winds
    as the meteors pounded down.

    They’ve dropped on God!
    They’ve dropped on God!
    Wiping out religion,
    leaving only those who found shelter
    in the deepest seas of insects and animals.
    The beautiful trumpets blared
    sounding so much like
    the burning of a city, the collapse of a nation.

    The angels are gazing out over their masterpiece;
    this crumbled paradise.
    They shed their hidden halos,
    unfolding them into blankets of stars
    staring out over the bars of flame and purity;
    they blow in the midnight air
    and the angels wipe away their tears.

    You have left us dear angels!
    You have left us
    when you stole away
    our neighbors, our brothers, our mothers!
    Why would God demand such destruction?!
    Why would Heaven allow such torment
    and leave us to endure?
    Why dear angels?
    We don’t understand.
    We don’t understand…
