I can't Lie

• Description: This is a poem describing me breaking up with my boy friend, which is different I think because mostly break up poems are from the person that was dumped, and not the dumper. I think it just shows that I didn't want to hurt him, but knew that if I continued on it would only hurt him more in the end. I hope you like it. Comments -mean or nice- are welcome.

I didn't mean to hurt you,
I didn't mean to make you cry.
I didn't mean to say those things,
and take them back in the beat of an eye.

It's just that sometimes...

Things don't go okay
Things were said
Tears were dropped
and dignities too
Hearts were broken...
like side walk cracks.

When I said I loved you,
I meant it at the time.
But now things have changed
and I see that just fine.

I wish I couldsay
something to make you alright
but we both know...
I can't lie
