The crickets sing to the flash of fireflies
Shadows of today's past devour and grow
Heaven's star and the horizon forby
An air of warm breeze yet for thee, enow
Flush of colour streams skies alow yonder
Sooth and dreams spread across thou's quotha glance
'Tis a sight at which thou cannot ponder
Avaunt an everlasting twinkle's chance
Darkness soon engulfs the picturesque scene
Thither it refuses to leave erelong
Light holds on, eftsoons tholes 'till time says yede
Sith aught must bow to what's now good and gone
The stint of wonder forms alack again
Betwixt day and night its graces begin
Translation:
The crickets sing to the flash of fireflies
Shadows of today's past devour and grow
The sun and the horizon meet
An air of warm breeze is enough for me
Flush of color streams the skies beyond forever
Truth and dreams spread across my astonished glance
It is a sight at which i cannot think
And gives a twinkle forever to shine
Darkness soon engulfs the beautiful scene
To its place it refuses to leave
Light holds on, refusing time itself until it says it's time to go
Anything and everything must bow to what's now good and gone
The stop of such wonder forms sorrow again
Between day and night it starts all over again
- Title: Sunset
- Artist: Tink959
- Description: This is a descriptive poem I wrote in the classic Shakespeare sonnet style. It took me forever to write at the time, but i think it came together quite nicely. It gets kinda confusing, so i'll put the translation on there too. Don't be afraid to critique me!
