You promise that we would never leave there
You said that we would live there forever
That I could have my friends so close and near
You said it so well, you were so clever

I can't believe that I fell for this lie
How easy I took the bait that you laid
How effortlessly you said them goodbye
How afraid I'm that there faces will fade

How could you leave so easy with no tear
Why do the tears fall so fast from my face
The pain you put on me you seem not hear
I long for the ones that I use to hold near

With a sad goodbye I left, I'm alone
Off to the lonely world I go, on my own
