-
Upon a dreary night, there were kids at play.
They giggled and danced and danced the night away.
By a stroke of thunder, they scurried toward the trees.
They quickly crawled under and leaned on their knees.
Spruce and oak, and stillness abound,
The children sat silent and Understanding they found.
Their hearts grew heavy and their sight grew blind.
They no longer cared and knew that they had died.
They ignored it for so long, yet now it was clear,
how that gentle play and ignorance could ever be so dear.
