Construed conceptions of the heart –
Coveting what you can't possess,
Time to recognize your part,
Do you regret this mess?
That boy, he plays a song for you,
That boy, he might just long for you.
So you watch those fingers as they play,
Dismiss the warmth from his eyes
Soon his smile fades away –
May your choice be your demise
That boy he plays a song for you,
That boy, he may just long for you.
Second thoughts, second chances
third thoughts,
the remorse dances.
With choices made, can't choose again
Regret hits you like a hurricane?
Well, close your heart, count to ten.
Walk away and pray you're sane.
How can he think she doesn't care?
Those feelings won't just fly away
Affection bottled up is just unfair
The choice was made, time to pay.
That boy he plays a song for you.
Oh boy, was it wrong of you?
Shattered souls beaten blue
Guess who broke her heart, too?
