The chains are gone,
the moons a-shine,
here I am,
Without my binds.
The jay bird sings,
and coyote howls.
The wild is calling,
I can here it now.
The air is crisp,
the night is free,
and like the Jay bird,
dear moon,
I shall sing to thee.
Thank you, thank you for making me feel free.

Description:
I have always felt a special connection to the moon. When I was little I would sneak out and lay on my lawn just to stare at it.
At sleep overs me and my friends would go out to howl at it. We always wished we were Coyotes, so we too could be free and howl at the moon. Seeing the moon is reassuring to me. This poem is describing my feeling towards the moon. - Date: 10/09/2008
