The skies open up to whisper malevolent cries.
They hold no grudge, they only wish to end their suffering.
I would reach out to them, but my limbs are broken down.
Would someone lift me up so that I may sacrifice my life?
I turn to the earth, but they turn away.
They cry for the suffering to end, yet they cast away their savior.
Their tears fill the oceans, and they overflow onto the land.
They cry for the oceans to retain their waters, such foolish mortals.
I would still sacrifice myself to the sky, but what for?
Why should I help these humans who only pity themselves?
They all deserve to die, they all deserve to writhe drown in the pool of sin they created.
They all deserve violent, painful deaths.
I should grind their bodies to dust and feed them to the skies as a sacrifice.
A fitting death that would be.
Then maybe the clouds could open up and the sun would shine once more!
Then again, how can I do anything with limbs broken down?
So once again, I turn to the mortals.
They’re so desperate, maybe this time they’ll sacrifice me.
The humans hear my cries this time, they acknowledge my existence.
For a brief moment, I held a sliver of hope in my hand.
That moment was very brief.
Their eyes filled to the brim with hate, they looked down on me as if I was the one who created these unforgivable sins!
They began spewing fire from their mouths, aiming it at me.
Monstrous words came from monstrous beings, though the words somehow began to cling to me
“Vampire, demon of the night” they said.
They pierced my flesh with foreign objects, they tore my body apart.
They took my flesh and fed it to the skies.
They cried out to their unholy gods, “Look, see what we have done? We have rid the world of evil! We have saved the world!”
They began to boast, they congratulated each other because my death was so brutal.
Yet, somehow I was not alone.
The skies took pity one me, they felt my pain and wanted to ease my suffering.
Slowly, they pieced my body back together.
Once again, I was whole.
They fed me starlight to nourish my weak body, and the stars forced a glimmering light from inside me.
I became radiant, I became a dazzling creature.
The skies then set me back upon the earth, yet I hid from the mortals.
Would they rip me apart and steal the stars within me?
No, not this time.
I would not let them have my new born body.
I would not let their sins go unnoticed and unforgiving.
These mortals would soon find what pain really is.
They would soon know the true meaning of the word.
They would become the word, they would breathe it in and out every second of every day.
These foolish mortals would finally get what they deserve.
The stars and the skies rested their powers in me.
The night sky cloaked my glorious body, hiding me from my victims.
The stars made me untouchable, made me irresistible to those humans born in sin.
I brought them to their knees and drank the sin from them, until there was none left.
Agony never had such a sweet taste.
I made them my minions, I made them drink the sin from the bodies of other mortals.
Soon, the world will be free of sin.
It will be glorious, we will be glorious.
Then, I can return to the skies and sacrifice myself once again.
