Let me stand with me own two legs

You think you're helping me

nuturing me

protecting me

but you're not

If you don't let me stand on my own two legs I'll never knwow my potential

You say I'm not strong enough

that i can't handle it on my own

But I can never know how tall I stand if you keep pushing down on my knees

I need to do this on my own

I need to know how tall I can stand

You need to let me go

If I fall I will get back up

And if I fall again I will still get up

And once I know that I can stand on my own

I'll start walking

And I'll never look back

I like this, especially the speaker isolates parts of sentences to put focus on them. It's just too bad she'll never look back.
