• God's Perspective of a Serial Killer
    My child, I created you
    before My Son was sent
I knew you. I knew that
    one day you would be
    taken by the desire to
    kill for pleasure and notoriety.
    Still I loved you enough
    to create you, and hoped
that one day you would know
    Me and forsake the instinct
which drives your lust for blood.
    I gave you the chance
to know life and to dance
    on the edge of uncertainty.
    You never sought Me,
    you never prayed,
    instead you embraced
    the thrill of the kill
    rejoicing over those you slayed.
I saw in your heart the shame and regret
of seeing the sanity that lay within yet unmet.
You realized that your desires were wrong
but the song of your heart was not too strong.
    The instinct to kill overruled
    all thoughts but these, until
you would eventually come to Me.
Tonight you have begun at long
last to come to grips with your past.
    Your guilt was decided
    by a jury of twelve
    and the families of victims
    can at last shelve
    their desire for revenge.
    The prosecution brought about your
    execution and tonight at last
you come to Me to redeem
you from your Hell to be.
    My child, I have waited
    and watched with abated
    breath hoping that you'd
    seek My refuge mild.
    Forsake your lust so that
    you might trust that tonight
    your prayers will be heard
and your rest will be found in Me.
