Let us speak in origami cranes
full of ambiguity. Now ask
is it a loss or is it a gain?
All this mystique and guile tries our brains
as we adopt these layers of masks –
Let us speak in origami cranes
which show that the world sadly contains
a most disagreeable task:
To decide which are losses and which are gains?
All that is central is what remains
in the end. Now go and let us bask
in the speech of origami cranes.
But, the paper melts whene’er it rains,
and there appear cracks in the masks;
are these losses or are these the gains
of understanding? Things are explained
so much better when words are unmasked
from their form of origami cranes.
But are we receiving losses or gains?
