Here is a man walking on the moon
Mesmerised by every move, crowds swoon
Immortality residing in a single jewelled glove
Try to copy him and drag your feet across the floor
But he’s not there anymore
He’s not there anymore
Our parents and their parents lived it, watching him, hypnotised
Our kids will one day ask us where we were when we realised
“Are you okay? Will you tell us that you’re okay?”
Scream in shock at hole where something was
Yet what would music be if he never was?
“Mouth to mouth resuscitation
Sounding heartbeats-intimidations”
Here is a King flying over amplified screams
There will be no curtain call to his dreams
The wire holds on: hold on tight
To the innocence he never got to have
As all the world stands still; still singing him a song
Wondering if he knew this all along:
The second star to the right
Shines in the night
For you

Description:
I'm still in shock from hearing that Michael Jackson is dead (those last four words sound insane, don't they?) I wasn't a hardcore fan, but I lvoed his music and he will continue to live on and inspire millions with his songs. Don't bother bashing him here: it's disrespectful and pointless. The blue lines are from Smooth Criminal (if you didn't know)
This was a bit rushed so don't be too harsh with your critique!

Panic, you know I love your work wink
This is alot better than my tribute as you incorporated lots of things related to him in it, and it's truely beautiful. - Report As Spam

R.I.P Michael Jackson. A true legend.
I love this poem, and how you incorporated Peter Pan into it (which makes it so, so poignantly powerful at the end)
I'm amazed that a poem you say was rushed could be this good! biggrin
The Smoothe Criminal lyrics a re very well placed (and it's one of my all-time faves!)
You captured the irony of his death spectactularly and this is a very sweet tribute. Well done Panic - Report As Spam
