• Life is not a straight path and you have to concentrate on the road your on. It changes without feeling. It will warp before you and will lose you in it. If you aren't watching the road, you can find yourself walking into something that can't be un-walked.
In everyone's road, there are choices. You will find different roads, hidden paths. They never look dangerous. They are always inviting in their own way. You can never tell what lies in the distance.
I found one path, and it gave me the feeling that I could get away from the cold one I was on. The one I walked by myself for two years. Two years that I walked by other paths unnoticed or disregarded with scornful eyes. But this path, this choice, it tugged at me. It pulled me closer. I don't know if I turned and took this road of my own volition, or if I let something push me. But I walked down this road, not wanting to be cold and lonely anymore.
It was a short path, much shorter then I thought it would be. Years shorter. I was running when it happened. Running over another hurdle. Right into what would make me lose my company.
Looking back after it all, I could see that there was a lot of signs I ignored. A lot that said to turn around and find your old path before something bad happened. A lot that hinted at exactly where I was going. I didn't see any of them until it was over.
There was no turning back from what had been done, the path taken was finished. The destroyed road had become untraversable and things so damaging could not be forgotten.
The only thing that could be done was to turn back around and keep walking forward. Take another path. It's useless to stand there at the end of a road looking at several paths before you. Paths you can't miss, ones that wouldn't have seen before, but come in sight clearly now. All the paths, and all the warnings.
The only thing to do is find the best one. Maybe it's not the right one, but maybe along that one, you can find it. You will never know, until you can see the end...
