Some people think that the Atomic bomb shouldn’t have been dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki because of the devastating and drastic effects of death and destruction. Other people, however, believe that the bomb saved not only American lives, but ultimately, Japanese people as well. Both the side for the bombing and against it have very strong and convincing arguments.
At the time of the bombing, just about everyone in the United States was for the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but that strength has sharply died over these 60 years. Now, there are a lot of people who think that the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings should have never happened, and they have a very powerful argument. They believe that the war was going to end anyway; they think that Japan was going to surrender without the use of the atomic bomb. They also believe that one bomb might have been okay, but the second one on Nagasaki was just plain overkill. The bomb also was aimed at civilians and not military bases, which upset the people who are unsupportive of the bombings. They also believe that the bomb was much more powerful then America imagined, and the tests we had were small-scale.
Although there are a large amount of people who think the bombs should have never happened, there are still people who are supportive of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings who have strong arguments. It would end the war more quickly, save American lives as well as Japanese lives. The Japanese were very fierce fighters who followed boushito, which is very noble to the Emperor. The prime minister of Japan told them what to do in the name of the Emperor, and they followed. The people who are with the bombings believe that the Japanese would keep fighting until their entire military was diminished. They also believed that we had to let Russians, who were also working on a nuclear program, know that we had a bomb already. America also did warn the Japanese via fliers before we dropped the bomb, although we didn’t tell them what kind of attack it was going to be.

- Also, is they had used the atomic bombs in alot of military action, there wouldn't be much left of japan. if anything, it would all be toxic. This is also one of the reasons we are trying to stay away from a 3rd world war, the stronger countries all have deadly weapons that can be launched from one side of the world to the other. capable of levelling whole cities in one shot. think of the death toll then...They were extremely painful ways of ending the war.

I agree about the fact that they were protecting their land, although this was even more horrific htan the Pearl Harbor attack, it did shorten the war considerably. I'm not saying it was the best way to end the war. it was just one way. another would have been total extermination. with horrific casualties on either side - Report As Spam

- Man,i loved the facts but that's a hardcore topic.have you ever seen those creepy TV shows with the people who are STILL DYING RIGHT NOW? or those like people with melted faces?Dude,it kinda sounds like you think the Japanese actually deserved it.which they did not.I mean, they were just trying to preserve their own culture and land.If someone dropped a bomb in America, you wouldn't like it either.
