• She felt the wind in her hair.
She could hear her father chanting,
    “You can do it Lynn!”
In this strange dream, she is awoken. A fall to the ground. The rest… Black.
Lynn awoken. Not in the soft grasses of the meadow of where she practiced, but on the freezing floor of her room. She sat up. The quiet, cold and darkness scares her.
A sudden movement came from behind her desk. It scurried around the room. She held her breath as it came towards her. "RYCAD!" she yelped. She let the breath out. The movement ceased. "But Lynn! I'm looking for a light!" it whispered. Lynn stood up and pushed the button of a lamp. It brought light to the nothing of which she used to stand in.
She turned towards the animal. It was a small lemur named Rycad. "Why in the name of the city are you here? Its way past sleeping hours!" she whispered harshly. "The rain! For it hit my housing and burnt it to the ground!" he responded. He scurried over to Lynn's bed. "You had the dream again?" the question sounded more like a statement.
Lynn sighed and walked to her bed. "Yes, I did. Rycad I'm so sorry about your home! Is your family okay?" she asked trying desperately to change the subject. Rycad's tiny little face bunched up into a big smile. "Yes! My family is fine, for I saved them from the rain!" he drew in a breath to continue. Lynn put her finger in front of her face to quiet him. Rycad stopped talking.
She got up from her bed and opened a drawer of clothes. She pulled out a small shirt with her name printed on it in gold letters. Lynn bunched it up on her desk. "You may sleep here for tonight." she mumbled. The lemur jumped across the bed and on to the desk.
"Thank you princess Lynn. May the flight god look upon you." he said falling asleep. Snoring came from the small animal. She sighed. Tomorrow was going to be extra busy. She turned off the lamp and let the nothing sink back in through her window. She then fell into a flightless sleep.
