• CHAPTER 15: LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE SECRET

So many secrets to hear, so little time to hear them...

    ~.:[Ayu's Perspective]:.~

Airashii came downstairs, as if on que, smiling. Eichi grinned, but just barely. I raised my eyebrows.

"I'm getting married to Ryuu!" She screamed. "He just proposed!" She squeezed me so tight I almost puked up my onigiris. "Ayu! Please be one of my bridesmaids!" I nodded and felt light-headed. Airashii... just got proposed to? Holy crap...

I half-heartedly smiled. "Great, Airashii... When's the wedding...?" I asked. Airashii smiled and replied, "In one month. Ryuu already had it planned and everything. Reserved a church already. He knew I'd agree." Her voice was airy and higher, like she stuffed a cloud down her throat and washed it down with a ray of sunshine. Not like I'm jealous. It's good. I wish I'd sound like that. I sound like a troll. "Isn't that... weird? You love him and everything, but what if you weren't ready? Would he cancel everything?" Airashii's face suddenly got dark and she lowered her voice.

"Well, Ayu," her words were piercing and sharp, cutting through me like a knife, "I am ready. You're just jealous because Eichi doesn't want to have anything to do with you. You want to get married as well," she flipped her hair back and glared at me, "but guess what? You never will. You might if you start being like a girl and if you stop faking injuries for attention. Loser."

I was taken aback. I looked at Eichi. "It's not true!" He bellowed. "I love Ayu!" Airashii smiled. "I know," she said sweetly, "You're perfect for each other. I hope you guys can come to my wedding. You too, bestie!" I looked around. "Uh... okay..." I really felt uncomfortable. She hated me two minutes ago. Maybe she's on her period. That gives you mood swings.

"Anyways, Ayu, Ryuu picked out a really pretty dress for you. He knew you'd be one of my bridesmaids," Airashii giggled. She turned her head towards the stairway. "Ryuu, dear, show us Ayu's beautiful dress!" There was some rustling, then Ryuu came downstairs holding the prettiest dress ever. I grabbed at it. "F-For meeeee?!" He nodded.

The dress was puffy and electric blue. It was strapless and had a lavender bow around the waistline. It was a Junior Women's Medium. Perfect.

"Thanks, Ryuu!!" I hugged him. "The dress is adorable!" But he didn't reply. Instead he held the dress away from me and followed Airashii upstairs. Eichi and I were alone.

    "You're quiet," I complained.

"I didn't want to interrupt you, my love."

"Stop saying that! It's so annoying!"

    "Fine, girlfriend."

    "I have a name, Eichi."

"Ryuu doesn't want to eat you."

    "What?!"

    "He's a Werewolf."

"I know," I growled, "but all Werewolves do, once transformed." Eichi chuckled and kissed the crown of my head. "Not true. Ryuu's a nice Werewolf. He tries to lead Werewolves away on full moons," he replied. "Real good job he's been doing. My blood's stained on my bedroom floor, if you haven't remembered," I rolled my eyes. Eichi tried to supress a laugh. "Well, he's been away for a while. Helping Airashii's sick parents." He covered hi mouth. "Two family secrets, spilled," he moaned.

"So? I'm part of the family. Kinda," I protested. Eichi grabbed my hand and inspected my ring finger. "What size are you, do you think? In rings?" He asked softly.

"Uh... seven," I replied. I just guessed. Why does he need to know?

"Thanks, Ayu," he smiled. I pecked him on the cheek. I suddenly got thirsty. I kept my thirst to myself.

"Eichi..." I started, knowing he'd probably brush off the subject, "if you've drank my blood so much, why aren't I a Vampire yet?" He looked at me in disdain and scoffed. "Ayu, you know I have to drink blood all at once to transform you. Don't speak of this again." And with that, he left me alone. I buried my face in my hands and cried. I'm so stupid sometimes! Then I shook my head. I'm just... I don't know. I cried some more.

"Ayu," Eichi growled sternly, "stop crying. I'm trying to sleep here." He glared at me. I cried harder. "E-Everybody hates meee!!" I whined. Eichi looked sadly at me, then walked over to me and put a large hand on my thin shoulder. "No, Ayu, we just have one large secret you will never know unless you pay a price. Not yen, either."
