“Hey Chris! What’s happening?” Johnny yelled at me, rather obnoxiously. I sighed.
“Jonathan, how many times have I told you not to call me Chris? My name is Christian.” Some people would describe me as boring, plain, or dull. I would describe myself as a hard working, strait forward person. I am a tall, skinny man with short black hair. I keep myself clean, out of trouble, and some people have called me handsome.
“Whatever Chris, I gotta go get some work done.” Johnny sat down at his pigsty he calls an office desk, and I walked over to mine. Johnny is a messy guy, with loose clothes and long, brown, greasy hair. He doesn’t have the best grammar in the world, but he has more girlfriends than I could imagine. He is also free minded. He will say some of the strangest things sometimes, but if I really think about it sometimes I see his point. Maybe once in a while I will get a spark of envy towards him, but then I remember what a fool he is.
I sat down at my office desk. My desk is very neat and clean. I have a keyboard and computer in front of me, and off to my left is a telephone. I have two filing cabinets attached to my desk’s bottom right, and one large one on the left. I work for an insurance company. Basically what we do is take people’s money, and if they ever get hurt, or their car gets destroyed, or their house floats away, we give some of the money back.
Of course, nobodies house has floated away since the invention of Catalig ten years ago in 2212 . Catalig is a super durable material only found on the planet Pluto. It is usually used to make houses because it is unbreakable and weather proof.
When I finished work I decided to go home. I had a pretty large house. The outside was made up of several large cubes. I put my hand in the glove lock, and it recognized my touch. The door opened. When you walk into my house there is a large living room with a brown wooden table to my right. Then in front of the table is a staircase. On the second story there are three doors that you can see from the bottom floor. On of the doors has my bedroom in it. My bedroom has a photovison window in it. These are windows that show whatever view you want to see. If you want to see a sunny day at 2:15 am you can do it. They are quite interesting actually.
The next door is my bathroom. This is all white and is fairly large. There is a shower a sink and a toilet.
The third room is my guest room. It is the same size as my bedroom, and it is painted red. There is a sliding glas door leading to a balcony and there is a queen size bed. It has red plaid blankets on it. This guest room is not used very often. Actually I don't think it's ever been used before.
About thirty-five feet in front of me is my kitchen and to my left is a couch and a huge wall input television. I sat down on the couch and turned on the T.V. It was the news. “Your nes for today is,” said the newscaster. He seemed very bored. “A new york man makes a pizza the size of a donut.” I gasped! “A ten year old boy lifts fifty pounds. Also a lamb weighs twenty-five pounds.” I turned off the T.V.
“That is amazing!” I yelled. I had never heard such great news in years! Then I went upstairs and got into bed. I dreamt about a huge lamb eating a giant pizza.
The next morning I got up, took a shower, got dressed and hopped into my car. It was a very small white car. It was just big enough to fit me. “Finschiser Insurance HQ” I said to my car.
“Certainly sir. What speed would you like to go at?” the car said back. My car has a bit of a british accent. It's a pretty friendly voice too.
“Speed limit please.” I told my car.
“ Certainly. Approximate time, three minutes.” Then my car drove me to work at a steady speed of Ninety-Five miles per hour.
When I got to work I went up to Johnny and asked, “Did you see the news last night?”
“Yes...” he said slowly.
“Pretty great, Huh?” I said nudging him.
“Let me tell you something,” he said as he stood up out of his chair. “A long time ago there was real news! They will tell you about a kidnapped child, a murder or a rape!” I could tell he was getting angry. “Now there telling us some crap about a fat lamb!! How the hell is that news??!!” He was screaming now.
“Calm down and watch your language please!” I pleaded with Johnny. Although I thought we was annoying, I didn't want Johnny to lose his job over a newscast!
“Alright I-I'm sorry.” He said almost in tears. After that the day continued on as normal. Johnny and I ignored each other and I tried to get as much work done as I could. But for something didn't feel right. What Johnny had said wouldn't come out of my brain. It was like a glue. A horrible sticky burning glue that is the truth.
When I got home from work I still could not get what Johnny had said out of my brain. I mean the very idea of a human doing such a horrible thing to another human being was completely foreign to me. Why would a human take the life of a fellow human being? Hoping to clear my mind I sat down on the couch and turned on the T.V.
“We have breaking news today. A slightly acidic rain has started due to pollution. We advise you not to go outside, because contact with this rain may cause a very slight burning sensation. But don't worry folks, because everything is going to be okay.” I turned off the television. Wondering exactly how acidic this rain was, I stuck my hand out of the kitchen window. I then let out a blood curdling scream! I quickly pulled my hand out of the rain. I looked at my hand and it was completely red with blood. The skin that was still left was pink and puffy. My hand looked like bloody cotton candy and it was pouring blood everywhere. I put my hand over the sink and wrapped it up in a bandage.
That night I could not sleep. I thought about what Johnny had said and about the news. I thought about the news reporter that had said everything would be alright. How is that possible? People have died! The homeless, the people who could not afford strong catalig houses, the innocent people outside when the rain started. I thought about my job. Insurance companies have never helped anyone! We take advantage of peoples fears and emotions, then steal there money!
“I can't keep living this way!” I thought. “I can't!” I got up out of bed, put my clothes on, walked downstairs, opened the front door, and ran outside. As I felt the sharp pain of a thousand needles around me I realized, Time itself was dying, and I knew it was the end. Fiery rocks came down from the sky, hitting our already corrupted world. Nobody can save us now. Nobody to tell us it's going to be okay! It's not! It's the end and the media can no longer throw their shallow and evil attempts to distract us form whats really happening upon us! Because it is right in front of us! The government can no longer herd us like mindless sheep with their false authority! For we are our own people! Who's to say what is right or wrong except the soul inside of us? The floods were coming. The burning floods that drown our mistakes. I fell over from the pain of the burning rain. Then with my last ounce of strength I whispered, “Freedom is not given to us, but is inside of us and must be earned.” Then the burning floods destroyed so quickly what I had spent twenty-eight years creating, the false image of my life.

- I like the end. It's quite interesting. The beginning is a bit boring, and there are some spelling/grammar mistakes through out it. But otherwise, it's good. =)
