• Chapter 1
    Dead Red Moon

    One clear cold night a group of vampire hunters were getting ready to take their new novice vampire hunter for their first hunt. This novices name was Suno a girl widely known for her supernatural powers. No one dared make her angry for she would somehow kill them by just glaring at them. She has no family and lives by herself out by a small creek that is a little ways away from the village. She doesn't talk much but would like a friend.
    Vampire Hunter 1:"Alright is everyone ready!?"
    Vampire Hunter 2,3,4,5,6:"YEAH!!!"
    Vampire Hunter 1: "What about you Suno?"
    Suno:"(Nods)"
    Vampire Hunter 1:"Let's go!!"
    They begin their search in a low populated area around a dark forest, known as The Forest of Endless Torture. The vampire hunters planned to leave Suno here and go back to the village without her. Nobody wanted her near the village anymore and the Elder ordered her exile.
    Vampire Hunter 1:"Alright, Suno you and Enmu go West, me and Oni will go East, Mashin, Kuji, and Fenikkusu, you guys go North."
    All at once:"Yes sir!"
    They all jolt off the way they were ordered too. Over to the east Koori and Oni were sitting in a tree waiting for a vampire to come by, if there are any in this dead forest that is. Up in the north Fenikkusu, Mashin, and Kuji were all sitting and relaxing knowing there are no vampires in this forest they have no need to be alarmed or alert for anything that moves. To the west Enmu and Suno were waiting by the base of a tree for some sign of life...or undead life. For hours they waited and nothing showed up.
    Enmu:"Hey Suno I'm going to go look around a bit. I'll be back in a little while."
    Suno:"Okay just don't be too long and don't get lost."
    Enmu:"I won't."
    And with that Enmu jolted off and was gone from sight.
    Suno couldn't tell weather it was day or night in the forest but what she did know was that Enmu had been gone for far too long. In the clearing where they were assembled before they left in different directions all the members stood, except one.
    Koori:"Enmu did you leave Suno deep in the forest?"
    Enmu:"Yes, there's no possible way for her to find her way back."
    All:"(Laugh)"
    Koori:"Let's get back to the village."
    They all left for the village leaving Suno to die in The Forest of Endless Torture.
    Suno was looking around, she didn't see any sign of anyone or anything. She decided to find her way out of this forest. She looked up and thought that maybe she could climb the trees and jump across their branches from above.
    Suno:"I hope this works."
    She jumps on branch after branch.
    Looking up she notices that she hasn't even moved from the ground, yet she knew she was just jumping on the branches. She tries again. After a minute of jumping she looks up again and she's still on the ground.
    Suno:"I thought this was The Forest of Endless Torture not Endless Illusions."
    Mysterious Voice:"This is The Forest of Endless Torture. This forest tortures your mind making it think you are doing something but your really not."
    Suno:"Who said that!?"
    A man comes out from behind a tree.
    Mysterious Man:"I did. It's very rare to see a human in this forest, unless your a hunter."
    Suno:"I am a hunter, a Vampire Hunter."
    Mysterious Man:"A Vampire Hunter you say?"
    Suno:"Yes, a Vampire Hunter."
    Mysterious Man:"If your a Vampire Hunter then why haven't you killed me yet." he smiles revealing his fangs.
    Suno just stared at the man.
    Mysterious Man:"My name's Akuma. What might yours be beautiful?"
    Suno:"My names Suno."
    Akuma:"Your a brave Vampire Hunter to be telling me your name."
    Suno:"I don't care if you are a vampire, I need your help."
    Akuma was shocked.
    Akuma:"What do you need help with?"
    Suno:"Do you know of any way to get out of this forest?"
    Akuma:"I do."
    Suno:"Then could you please show me?"
    Akuma:"Only if you come with me back to my village."
    Suno was silent.
    Akuma:"If you don't come back with me then I'll just kill you right here and now."
    Suno wasn't afraid to die since she had nothing to live for, but she answered anyway.
    Suno:"Alright I will follow you to your village."
    Akuma:"Excellent! Now follow me."
    He turns around.
    Akuma:"Before we go remember to follow my every step, put your foot where I put mine, or else."
    Suno:"(Nods)"
    He begins walking putting his feet in certain spots with Suno right behind him copying everything he does. Hours later they arrived outside the forest, the moon was high in the sky shining brightly with the stars. (here where i stoped in japanses)
    Suno:"Thank you Akuma. (Bows)"
    Akuma:"Your welcome."
    Suno:"As I agreed back in the forest, I will follow you to your village."
    Akuma:"My village is far away and it will take many days to get there since I only travel by night.'
    Suno:"That is fine, I don't mind traveling by night."
    Akuma:"You are a strange one Suno."
    Suno didn't say anything.
    Akuma:"Let's get going before the sun rises."
    Suno:"(Nods)"
    Akuma and Suno set off for the vampires village. What did Akuma have in store for her? Was he going to let someone else in the village make her their lunch or was he going to turn her into one of them?


    * * *

    Suno looks around at all the vampires wondering what they're thinking. She could feel their blood lustful eyes drilling into her back as she followed Akuma to a tall mountain side, a cave was carved into the base of it. Akuma approached a vampire that looked almost like a child.
    Akuma:"I've brought what you asked for my Lord."
    He bows. The child looks at Suno and glares.
    Child:"This is not her."
    Akuma:"But she matches the description."
    Child:"She is not the one! Akuma I asked for a simple human girl not this monster!"
    Suno grit her teeth.
    Akuma:"But sir she is a simple human girl."
    Child:"She is not! This girl is Hanshou's child! She is a half-breed!!"
    Gasps came from the other vampires.
    Child:"Eliminate her!"
    Akuma looked at Suno with a glare. Akuma stood up and walked over to Suno.
    Vampire:"Hold it! Let me do the honors of killing her!"
    Akuma looked at a man dressed in all white.
    Akuma:"Why do you want to kill her, Shiro?"
    Shiro:"Because her father killed my dearest friend!"
    Child:"Akuma chain her up and make sure she can't leave this village, I've changed my mind. She will stay in the village until further notice."
    Akuma and Shiro:"Yes sir."
    Suno was chained up and thrown into a dark cave.
    Akuma:"This is where you'll be staying for a while."
    Suno looked at the ground.
    Akuma walked away and closed the gate that had been built onto the outside of the cave.
    Night time got there real fast and everyone was gathering around the child. After ten minutes they all jolted off in different directions.....the whole village was now empty and Suno was left alone once again. Hours passed and someone had returned to the village with something she never thought a vampire would eat, cooked boars meat.
    The vampire walked over to the cave Suno was being held in.
    Vampire:"Here I caught this for you, my name's Axl by the way."
    He opens the gate and walks up to her, he sets the food down in front of her.
    Suno:"Why are you being nice to me?"
    Axl:"Even if you are a half-breed you still have vampire blood in you. Vampires look out for each other."
    Suno looked at the food.
    Suno:"Thank you."
    She began eating.
    After she had finished Axl took what was left of it and threw it into a river that was close by. He came back moments later and sat beside her.
    Axl:"I'm sorry for the way they're treating you."
    Suno:"It's fine, I'm use to it."
    Axl:"But it's not right!"
    Suno:"Axl listen, I'm a half-breed the child of a couple who betrayed their people for love. Anywhere I go I will be treated this way."
    She lays her back against the wall.
    Axl:"This is wrong you should be released and sent back to your human village."
    Suno:"I'm an outsider, I was exiled from there. I have no where to go but back to my old home."
    Axl:"You know I just thought of something. Hanshou and Yuki had you one hundred years ago, how can you still be alive?"
    Suno:"Hell if I know. Maybe it's because I'm a half-breed."
    Axl:"Half-breeds live as long as humans though."
    Suno:"Maybe I have more vampire blood then human."
    Axl:"Maybe....I must be going now before they all get back."
    Suno:"Okay, nice meeting you Axl."
    Axl:"Nice meeting you too Suno."
    Axl walks out and closes the gate, then walks away to his cave.
    Suno:'Don't get too close to me Axl, you'll only wind up getting hurt.'
    It was almost sunrise when all the vampires got back. Everyone immediately went back to their caves. Akuma came to check on Suno, she was asleep in the far back of the cave. He walked away and went to his cave meeting up with his wife and children. Axl was watching them and then looked over at Suno's cave. Shiro walked up to him.
    Shiro:"What's wrong son?"
    Axl:"Nothing."
    Axl turns around and goes back into the cave. Shiro looks over at Suno's cave and glares, then walks in after Axl.
    Shiro:"You know you shouldn't be feeding a prisoner."
    Axl:"What are you talking about?"
    Shiro:"I was following you Axl. You killed that boar and cooked it just for her."
    Axl:"So, what if I did?"
    Shiro:"If you did, then I would have to kill you, my one and only son."
    Axl:"(Glares)"
    Shiro:"You caught it for her didn't you?"
    Axl:"Yes, I did!"
    Shiro:"I was afraid of that. You've grown too soft, like your weak and blind mother!"
    Axl:"(Growls and slashes at Shiro) Don't you ever say that about mother again!!"
    Shiro:"I didn't raise you well enough Axl. It's too bad I was really looking forward to seeing you get married to the Lords daughter."
    Axl:"I wouldn't marry her in a million years!"
    Shiro:"(Punches his son)"
    Axl stumbles backwards a little.
    Shiro:"You will marry her and you will like it!"
    Axl:"I'd rather die then marry her."
    Axl kicks his father making him fly out of the cave and into the sunlight.
    Shiro:"Tch."
    Shiro runs back into the cave and aims for his son with another punch.
    Axl dodges and kicks him again.
    Shiro:"Dying Blood Claws!!"
    The tips of his nails turn crimson red. He slashes his son on the shoulder.
    Axls shoulder begins bleeding, slowly at first, then blood came gushing out.
    Axl:"(Growls)"
    Shiro:"You will slowly die and there's no one else who knows how to stop the bleeding other then me."
    Axl:"I will not die so easily!"
    Axl gets ready to attack.
    Shiro:"We'll see about that."
    Shiro gets in fighting stance.
    Axl:"Ice Crescent Moon Blades!"
    Axl swipes his hand at his father and white, almost transparent, blades come out of nowhere and strike Shiro across his shoulders and chest.
    Shiro:"Crimson Crescent Moon Claws!"
    Shiro swipes at his son and crimson red blades go flying at him.
    Axl dodges.
    Axl:"New Moon Blade, Awaken!!"
    A pure black blade forms in Axls hand.
    Axl:"New Moon Death Prison."
    A cage with spikes up and down the bars form around Shiro. The prison starts shrinking, getting smaller and smaller. Soon Shiro had spikes sticking out everywhere on his body. Blood covered the cave floor and filled the air.
    Everything was quiet and Axl was watching his father carefully. He knew his father wouldn't go down so easily.
    Shiro smirked and blasted the prison bars away from him. The spikes still remained in his body but that didn't stop him from moving.
    Shiro:"Hahahaha!!!! Is that all you got!? That didn't even hurt!"
    Axl:"(Glares)"
    Shiro:"I'll show you a real move! Raging Blood Bath!!"
    Blood oozes out the ground and grabs Axls ankles. The blood crawls up Axls legs and engulfs him.
    Shiro:"Now, DIE!!"
    The blood constricts and crushes Axl.
    The blood disappears to reveal Axl unharmed. A woman dressed in a black dress and long black hair stood in front of Axl.
    Woman:"You will not harm this child!"
    Chains form around Shiro's ankles,wrists, and neck.
    Woman:"You will come with me to the gates of Hell and think about what you have done to your own flesh and blood, your son! You will be put in a cell and kept there until you have realized what you have done to him. Only then will you be able to come back here."
    Shiro:"Okay but I must do one more thing before I go."
    Woman:"And that is?"
    Shiro:"This. I call upon the Amatsu-Mikaboshi to cover this land in darkness and chaos! Create destruction and war for all that stand in the light!"
    Outside the sun begins to darken, after a few second it is covered by a crimson full moon.
    The chains around Shiro yank him down underground.
    Woman:"You must find a way to stop this Axl."
    Axl:"Me?"
    Woman:"Yes, you. Your father did this now you must undo it. Find the one who stands in the light. Only then will you bring this to a stop."
    Axl:"But how will I know?"
    Woman:"You will know Axl."
    The woman disappears.
    Later that night Axl was sitting at the entrance to his cave. He was trying to figure out who this "one that stands in the light" is. He looked over at Suno's cave and thought maybe she would know something about it since she isn't a full vampire. She knows the light better then he does. He gets up and begins walking to her cave. The child called him over to his cave. Axl stops and walks over there.
    Axl:"Yes my Lord?"
    Child:"You reek of vampire blood, what were you doing this morning?"
    Axl:"....."
    Child:"If you will not tell me, I'll have the guards kill you."
    Axl:"Me and my father got into a fight that is all."
    Child:"Nice lie Axl, but it won't work. Take a look at the moon."
    Axl looks at the moon and sees it is still it's crimson red color from this morning.
    Child:"Something happened that your not telling us. Now what are you hiding!?"
    Axl:"The world will be engulfed in darkness unless the one who stands in the light is found."
    Child:"Hmm....that means it'll be dark during the day and night. (Smiles evilly)"
    Axl:"Yeah...."
    Child:"Well Axl, thank you for that information. I'll have to find this light person and kill them before they ruin this eternal darkness."
    Axl:"But my Lord-"
    Child:"Silence! You will be the one to destroy this light! Do I make myself clear!?"
    Axl:"(Looks down) Yes sir...."
    Child:"Good, now you may go."
    Axl turns and heads for Suno's cave.
    Child:"Oh and one more thing."
    Axl stops.
    Axl:"What?"
    Child:"Where's your father? I haven't seen him all night."
    Axl:"......I'm sorry I can't tell you. It is something I just don't want to talk about."
    Axl continues on his way before his leader can argue.
    He walks into Suno's cave, closing the gate behind him. Suno was sitting in the back of the cave. She looks up.
    Suno:"It's dangerous to be in here with everyone up."
    Axl:"I don't care, I need to talk to you about something."
    Suno just sat there and stared at him.
    Axl:"Something very important."
    Suno:"It has to do with what has happened am I right?"
    Axl:"Yes."
    Suno:"What is it you need to know?"
    Axl:"A woman in black came to take my father to Hone kyūden, she told me the only way to break what my father has done is to find the one who stands in the light."
    Suno:"Go on."
    Axl:"Do you probably know who it is?"
    Suno:"How would someone of tainted blood know that?"
    Axl:"I'm sorry I just thought since you were with humans you might've heard something about a prophecy such as this."
    Suno:"I've never heard of such a thing but the Secret Library might hold something."
    Axl:"Where's that at?"
    Suno:"I've heard many stories of the Secret Library, it is said to be in the land where different types of races live. Everyone who has gone there has either been reported missing or they die shortly after arriving home. No one has gone for years, everyone believes it is cursed."
    Axl:"Then I must go there."
    Suno:"Your crazy."
    Axl:"What!? Your the one who suggested we go there!"
    Suno:"No! I said that is where you might find something of this prophecy but I did not say we should go there!"
    Suno stands up.
    Axl:"Then what should we do stand here and wait for the world to be taken over by darkness!?"
    Suno:"You are a vampire what does it matter to you weather or not the world gets taken over by darkness!?"
    Axl was silent.
    Suno:"You Axl are not even ready to go there! This place is far away and will take many months to get there!"
    Axl:"And what you think that'll stop me!? I'm more ready then you think half-breed!!"
    Suno stared at Axl, then she turned her back to him.
    Axl:"Oh ok so now your going to ignore me!? Huh!? A filthy half-breed like you ignoring a pure blood!!?"
    Suno:"GET OUT!!"
    Axl gets infuriated and walks up to her stabbing his claws into her back.
    Axl:"Your nothing but a low life half-breed, that needs to be erased from this world."
    Suno:"I knew I couldn't....trust you."
    Suno coughed up some blood.
    Axl:"I'll go to this Secret Library and find out who this light person is, and destroy them."
    Axl tore his claws from Suno's back then stared as Suno fell to the floor.
    Axl:"Huh? Wha-What happened?"
    He shakes his head and looks around.
    Axl:"Suno?"
    He looks down at the floor, he stares wide eyed at her body.
    Axl:"Did......I do this?"
    He looks at his hands, his left one was stained with blood.
    Axl was silent, tears were starting to overflow out of his eyes.
    Suno groans and tries to get up but fails and plops back down on the cold hard cave floor. Axl walks around to her side and flips her over slowly. She swipes at his face.
    Suno:"Stay.....away from.....me!"
    She growls, coughing shortly after.
    Axl holds a hand to the three scratches bleeding on his right cheek.
    Axl gets up and backs up against the cave wall.
    Suno sits up slowly and then puts her hand on the wound. A soft glowing green light forms around her hand and begins healing her wound.
    Suno:"Axl."
    Axl looks at her wide eyed.
    Suno:"Die."
    Axl:"Huh?"
    Suno looks at him with crimson red eyes and chants something. Two flaming bars stab Axl in the shoulders pinning him to the wall. Suno stands up after healing her wound and walks over to him her eyes still crimson red but got darker the closer she came to him. She looked him in the eyes.
    Suno:"You will stay pinned to this wall and die slowly. I thought I could trust you, but it appears I was wrong to trust a vampire!"
    She bares her fangs at him then walks to the back of the cave and lays down to take a nap.

    * * *

    Hours passed and Axl was getting hungry. He looked over at Suno and saw she was asleep, he decided to get the bars out of his shoulders so he could get out of there. He slowly tries to lift his hand up to one of the bars. He grabs it and as soon as he does another bar comes and stabs him in the leg.
    Axl:"Gah!!"
    Axl keeps trying to pull the bar out, another bar stabs him in the other leg, then in the stomach, and in the chest, and neck. He was completely pinned down and couldn't move anything. He was losing a lot of blood quick. He closes his eyes.
    Suno appears in front of him.
    Suno:"Your father got stuck in this same situation. Did you know that?"
    Axl opens his eyes and looks at Suno the best he can.
    Suno:"Your father tried to kill me when I was a little girl. I used the same technique on him. He found out how to get the bars out only minutes after they were stabbed into him."
    She looked at him.
    Suno:"If you can figure out how to get the bars out by the time..." a blue flame appears in front of her, "this flame goes out then your free. If not then your doomed."
    Axl just stared at her.
    Suno sits down and watches him.
    Axl tries to examine the bars.
    Axl:'Okay so I know that when I try to pull one out it makes others pierce my body.....so what if I tried to pull myself off the bars instead?'
    Axl begins pulling his hand off the bar. Nothing was happening no bars were flying at him or anything. He pulls his hand off and then tries his other hand.
    After twenty minutes he finally gets himself off the last bar, but the flame that was in front of him had disappeared. He looked at Suno and glared.
    Axl:"I don't know how you got stabbed but-"
    Suno:"Shut up!"
    Axl:"I swear I didn't do that, I don't even remember stabbing you."
    Suno:"Yeah whatever you say."
    She gets up and walks to the back of her cave.
    Suno:"I should never had told you about the Library."
    Axl:"Why, I now know how I can stop this."
    Suno:"You said you were going to destroy the one thing that's going to save this world."
    Axl:"What?"
    Axl started thinking.
    Axl:"I did not say that....but where do I remember hearing that from?"
    Axl has a flash back of when he was talking with the leader.

    Flashback

    Child:"Axl come over here!"
    Axl:"Yes my Lord?"
    Child:"You reek of vampire blood, what were you doing this morning?"
    Axl:"....."
    Child:"If you will not tell me, I'll have the guards kill you."
    Axl:"Me and my father got into a fight that is all."
    Child:"Nice lie Axl, but it won't work. Take a look at the moon."
    Axl looks at the moon and sees it is still it's crimson red color from this morning.
    Child:"Something happened that your not telling us. Now what are you hiding!?"
    Axl:"The world will be engulfed in darkness unless the one who stands in the light is found."
    Child:"Hmm....that means it'll be dark during the day and night. (Smiles evilly)"
    Axl:"Yeah...."
    Child:"Well Axl, thank you for that information. I'll have to find this light person and kill them before they ruin this eternal darkness."
    Axl:"But my Lord-"
    Child:"Silence! You will be the one to destroy this light! Do I make myself clear!?"
    Axl:"(Looks down) Yes sir...."
    Child:"Good, now you may go."

    End of Flashback

    Axl:"Did I say something like I will destroy this light person?"
    Suno:"Yeah."
    Axl:"That wasn't me that was my leader!"
    Suno:"Now how could that be your leader when he was outside near his cave the whole time this happened?"
    Axl:"I forgot he has the power to manipulate someones mind."
    Suno:"....."
    Axl:"Please believe me, I didn't stab you I didn't say any of those things, it was my leader taking over my mind."
    Axl hears footsteps approaching and looks towards the gate.
    The leader appears before the gate.
    Child:"Axl are you alright, you've been in there for almost two hours now?"
    Axl:"Yeah I'm fine."
    Child:"Then why is there blood everywhere?"
    The leader walks in.
    Axl:"I...uh.....uhm.....got....hungry."
    Child:"Did you now?"
    Axl:"Yeah."
    Child:"Then that means Suno's dead, correct?"
    Axl:"Y-Yes."
    Child:"Excellent, let me tell you something."
    Axl was confused, why couldn't his leader see that Suno was right behind him. He just decided to play along with what ever was happening.
    Axl:"What is it that you need to tell me sir?"
    Child:"Your banished. (Smiles evilly)"
    Axl:"Why, what did I do?"
    Child:"Nothing I just want you out of this village. Your a bug and not very strong, plus your too soft for a vampire."
    Axl didn't know what to say so he just nodded his head and his leader walked out telling him to pack up anything he wants to take with him and leave.
    Suno:"Your leader's pretty stupid isn't he?"
    Axl:"Huh?"
    Axl turns around but doesn't see Suno.
    Suno:"I'm speaking to you using telekinesis. I slipped out through the back of the cave while you were distracted by your leaders footsteps."
    Axl:"Where are you outside? If you haven't already heard I've been banished for stupid reasons."
    Suno:"Yeah I know. I'll try and leave a trail to where I'm going okay?"
    Axl:"Alright."
    Axl walks out and towards his cave, he packs up everything he needs and leaves.
    Back in his village Akuma and the leader were talking.
    Child:"I want you to follow him. Do everything you can to stop him from destroying this eternal darkness."
    Akuma:"Yes sir."
    Akuma packs what he needs kisses his family goodbye and follows Axl."

    * * *

    Axl met up with Suno at a river side house far away from everyone.
    Axl:"Are you sure this is okay to stay here, I mean what if the person who lives here comes back?"
    Suno:"The person who lived here is already back."
    Suno begins tearing a little.
    Axl:"Hey are you okay?"
    Suno wipes her eyes.
    Suno:"Y-Yeah I'm fine."
    Axl:"Who lives or lived here?"
    Suno:".....I did."
    Suno looks over to the side of the house, then walks over there and behind the house. Axl follows.
    Suno stands in front of three grave stones.
    Axl:"Is this your family?"
    Suno:"Yeah, my uncle on the far left, my father in the middle, and my mother on the far right."
    Axl:"I'm sorry."
    Suno looks down.
    Suno:"Tell me Axl, do you have any family? Surely you must, I mean you are a pure blood after all."
    Axl:"I do, I have my father Oni Akai Getsuei the guy who wanted to kill you, and my brother Kuro Supiritto Getsuei."
    Suno:"What about your mother?"
    Axl went silent and looked away.
    Suno:"Oh."
    Suno looks away also.
    Axl:"You get settled in and I'll go find something to eat."
    Suno:"Okay."
    Axl jolts off towards the woods.
    Suno heads inside her old house looking off into the woods before walking in.
