- The rain fell atop the grey whithering house as the party continued inside. Little Jimmie's 8th birthday. A birthday filled with color, spirit and false hopes. Jimmie's party had everything; friends, music, family and shared memories. Lots of people sat at the dining table for dinner with Jimmie. It was an impressive set-up. All the silver had been polished and set out, the napkins and tabled cloth had been ironed. Jimmie had never liked candles so they weren't set out. The cake he had was small and tasteless. It was decorated simply. Black, with grey swirlls around the top and bottom edges. Jimmie's name was written in an even arch on top. A single un-wished upon candle was lit on the cake, dripping wax onto the icing that would never be eaten. Everyone was silent, except for Jimmie's Ghost.
