Chapter 3
Dylan’s house is amazing! The first time I went over to his house I was lost for words. It was like a castle, but not with all the dungeons, towers, and draw bridges. It was a cream color, with glass colored windows, and on the huge brown, wooden doors there was a crest on the door handle. Nothing like a castle at all….though it is the size of one! I actually got lost going to the bathroom, a SERVANT had to escort me to the NEAREST one to us! I mean, I should have released he was just more than a rich, cute, nice guy, (I don’t care about the rich part) but of course I just thought his father was rich. Another thought, I have never seen his parents or anyone in his family before, just the workers in his house. I’m always too scared to bug him about his family, thinking that something horrible happened to them when he was young.
Wondering about the inside of his house? Well it’s just as extravagant as the outside! There are Greek, cream, columns inside matching the walls, with a long black granite staircase. The floor is covered in Persian rugs, on top of that are red sofas covered in fluffy white pillows, and there are hundreds of rooms! He even has a courtyard and an indoor/outdoor pool, with tennis courts, but my favorite thing about his house is his library! The room was full of books, a winding staircase that leads up to three stories of book cases, tables, chairs, and an intercom on each floor.
So while I was thinking all of this beauty in Dylan’s arms (probably making him uncomfortable since I was staring at him), I was being carried to the library. My vision was kind of fuzzy because all I could see was Dylan surrounded by fog and everyone sounded like they were under water. Until all of the voices stopped, and Dylan was reading a book out loud to me, about some princess and a very hairy beast. I closed my eyes and listen to his deep husky voice as he whispered words of the story to me, when he stopped I didn’t open my eyes I fell asleep again.
I dreamt I was in a garden, but the roses around me were not red they were black. Not even the stems were green or the bushes. I was running towards something too. A black figured man was standing off in the sunset (wow how cliché are my dreams) and when I yelled at him he turned around and was wearing a golden mask; the kind that men wore in the renaissance era, when they would duel each other, the ones with the long noses. He also had shining silver sword, with a golden handle encrusted with ancient words, but then I was pulled back by someone with a red riding glove. The red hand covered my mouth as I muffled a cry of help while tears rolled down my red face rolling under my chin. And that black figure never helped me nor did he save my life.
I later woke up to find an old blanket on the ground and my hair was going in every direction. When I got up from the love seat I quickly sat down because the blood rushed to my head and made me dizzy with a major headache. Dizziness gone , I got up to go look at my reflection in the only mirror the library has that is as tall as a giraffe and as wide as a loading truck. I looked terrible! I had dark circles under my eyes with tear stains on my face and I looked as if I haven’t had sleep for days, which is true, and it was already night. Dylan was no where to be found, so I did what I usually do when I’m in the library, read the book I left off with ( I was going in alphabetical order) and wait for him to get me. Which is extremely boring because all this time I’m thinking to myself and after a while it gets to quiet.
So like after what feels like an hour (there are no clocks in the library) I leave the couch and go on an adventure to find him!
The hallways in this house seem like tunnels, you never know where they are going to end. Ah! Finally a human being! I thought as a maid walked by.
“Um, excuse me?” I whispered because I haven’t talked to anyone in a long time.
“Yes, madam?” The maid spoke in a business tone. She was wearing her hair in a bun, a black dress, and a white apron.
“Have you seen Dylan by any chance?” I sounded desperate.
“In the corridor, with clients.” Was all she said.
“Oh….” A long pause appeared. “ Do you mind leading me there?” I asked hopeful.
She nodded and I followed as she led me through hallways and up staircases. Finally I saw the a bright spot. They quicker I walked the more I saw. The sun shining down on the green bushes and gray cement that was covered in swirls of pictures. Standing in the middle was Dylan with three to four men, but they didn’t look like normal human beings because……
