Spring, a wonderful time of year it is. The sun is high above the sky. Forests are filled with tasty pray. Can life get any better. But wait, have you ever heard of the one and only Black Walker? No? well here is his story.
Pelt dark as night eyes flash in the lightning storm. Fur mattered and bloody from a fight he had with his now former pack, lead by River the mysterious white wolf, with unusual blue eyes. He ran as far, and as fast as he could away from the ragging wolves he left behind.
He ran to a new territory where his brother's pack wouldn't get him. His sides heaving from the long, and very fast run. He quickly looked around making sure that no other wolf was around to see him. He was known as a killer from other packs. Tales told to scare pups to make them behave. He growled at the thought. "Not again will I be treated as a story" He told himself and he walked through the forest.
Have you ever heard the beginning of the stories?
'As black as night, his pelt shines in the shadows.
His pray is young pups whom stray away from their mothers.
Better behave young ones, or he well come and get you.'
The rest is up the tellers. But that is the main point of the stories. Do you even know how it started? Do you know what I had to suffer from it?" he said trying to calm down.
He walked over to the stream and looked at his refection. Seeing the wolf from a different view. All covered in his own blood, and others as well. His eyes hateful, along with spite. No he seen something else, but he couldn't detect it. His muzzle stopped dripping blood, it tainted his nose of the awful smell he was so use to. He lifted a paw and tried to splash the water away, almost erasing it.
A mysterious white wolf sat with his pack giving a meeting call to his wolves. "You have fought well against my brother. But he is still out there, lurking in the darkness. We can not let him live. From this moment on if we see or scent Black Walker kill him" River spoke harshly even for him. Black watched the sun rise, and now he watches the waters edge.
His wounds still ached from his battle with his formal pack. Aye he was foolish he was outnumbered. But it didn't stop him from proving his point. 'What point, all I did was make them hate me.' he thought.
His stories are alive to this very day. When he first killed his victim for the very first time, he was banished by his father. And he roamed the packs, and lands trying to find the right one for him. But each and every time he found one, he was banished when he killed another wolf from that pack. But he has his reasons for doing so. River watched and wondered his lands trying to find a trace of his brother, but only found that he has left his land onto another.
Black Walker I will kill you.' River thought darkly as he watched the bloody paw prints going straight out of the lands. He gave a musical howl to let his pack know that the hunt for Black is over for now.
Black Walker heard the distant howl and shuttered wondering what his brother is up to.
The Start of Trouble
A bright morning day had just begun and in the cave where Rose a black wolf was watching her two pups, the father River was the alpha and he was attending the pack. "Bobby, behave!" Rose called to the little black wolf "Why won't you be like your brother River?" she got up and walked over to Bobby.
"Yeah, why don't you become like your older brother?" River teased.
"Like that will ever happen." Bobby said lightly as he played with a ball of moss. "Besides your only a few seconds ahead of me. It's not like your going to become alpha now." Bobby looked up at his mother and his twin brother.
"Why don't you go and play with your friends?" Rose suggested.
"I don't have any, but I will tell a few tails." Bobby said and ran out of the den to find some other wolf to tell his stories too. His most popular tail to tell is about a bloodied black wolf above the waterfalls challenging his twisted white older brother. The white wolf was a power hungry wolf that would stop at nothing to get what he wants. He didn't have a name for these wolves, so he based them off of himself, and his brother. Most wolves asked if Bobby held a grudge against his older brother for being the oldest.
"That's crazy, I just didn't know what to call these wolves. Day, and Night wouldn't fit with them, and I've tried Light, and Dark. I just wouldn't work. So I just used our names, it seemed right at the moment." Bobby would answer truthfully to the other wolves that questioned his stories at the end.
"Well you sure know how to tell a chilly story about wolves that don't exist. Your vary creative, Bobby." a younger wolf said.
"Thanks" Bobby would answer the other wolf. After that story Bobby, and the younger wolf became best friends. Bobby would tell stories to the younger wolf whom wanted to hear every tale he had. A few more months and Bobby, and River would become a year. That is when things went the wrong way, Bobby wanted to do anything to go hunting with his father. River didn't like the idea of going with his father when his little brother was going.
"I think I'll stay here." River said and walked back to the den. In some way River seemed way older then Bobby when they are the same age. Bobby got his wish of going with his father on the hunting patrol, after a while Bobby seen a rabbit and went after it. He caught it dead on, and told his father he caught something and wanted to show it to River first.
"Alright, go show him." his father River answered. Bobby was pleased and went to get his catch to show to his brother River. River his father was pleased that Rose decided to call the white pup when they were first born after the father. She said she didn't want the name to die, so the first pup was named River. Bobby got back to the camp place, once he got nearer he seen that River his brother was standing over a wolf with blood dripping from his jaws, and claws. River looked up and seen that Bobby got back early. River thought quick and went to clean the blood from him and seen that Bobby was coming closer to the wolf. 'Perfect' River thought and went back after he was washed. He seen that Bobby had the wolfs blood on his muzzle 'Your making it to easy,' River thought.
"How could you! He was your friend!" River called out loud enough for the rest of the pack to hear. After a moment wolves started to come from the den, the forest, even beside the river bend that flowed near by. They started to murmur about what had happened. 'Bobby killed his best friend' or 'Was it a set up? Does that pup have a twisted mind?' and 'Maybe it was crude he held against his older brother.' Bobby was stunned at what his older brother was doing. 'I didn't do this! River did it!' he wanted to call out. But after what his brother said how could he, he told to many stories to be telling the truth anymore. He started to run to his nurse thinking that she would believe him. 'I know she will' he thought and came close to her.
"Bobby, I know it wasn't you." the nurse said. She was old, but wise she could tell from the horror on the young pups face that he would tell the truth no matter what. "Come and sit by old Kika." she said motioning him to come closer.
"Why would River do this? He killed my only friend in this pack, he blamed me for it!" Bobby whinnied. He was confused of why his brother had done the thing he was doing. "Do you think my stories are coming true?" he asked.
"Yes they are," Kika said "You made the stories, you can end them." she said. She knew what was going on, Bobby had a gift of telling, and letting it come true. That is why things are turning out the way they are.
"How do I end them?" he asked hoping for a answer he can use.
"That is for you to find out, young one." Kika said she sat there in silence watching the chaos below. "Go, they are waiting for you." Kika said and went back into her den. Bobby did as he was told and went back to the pack. Head hung low, his tail barley swaying. He was a sad little puppy. 'I'll run away, tonight.' he thought as he went down with new hope rising in him now. River his father, and his older brother were talking about what had happened. All of it was a lie set up by River of course. Rose was listening in silence once she saw Bobby coming close he yelped out and went to him.
"Bobby, what happened? The whole pack is talking about it." Rose said covering him in wolf kisses. Bobby was trying to push his mother a side so he could get to his father.
"Mother, I didn't do it. It was River that killed Rain, I seen River covered in Rain's blood. It wasn't me" Bobby said out loud. Hoping to foil River's plans.
"How dare you make tales!" River called out "I" putting power in that 'I' adding a growl with it. "seen you kill him! With my own eyes!" River was putting on quiet a show.
"Your accusing me of killing my only friend in the pack?! You should be banished!" Bobby called out, he was frustrated now and started to growl at his older brother.
"That look, I know that look it was the same look he used to kill Rain!" River yelped and went behind their father. Bobby was shocked and flattened his ears back shaking his head 'No' he started to run up the hill far away from his pack. 'They believed him over me. River is going to destroy the forest, but the black wolf will stop at nothing to save the wolves of the forest.' he thought as he got to the top. He looked down and seen that the whole thing never took place, it was like he never lived in the pack in the first place. He gave a mystical howl, a howl he never used before. He liked the howl, how it sounded as it left him, how it lingered in the air around him, how it bounced off everything. He loved the howl. River heard the howl and partly opened his jaws to smile 'Bobby, I'm bringing you down.' River thought and went to give his own howl to his little brother. It was a musical howl, a howl that River had never used before, he too like his howl, it gave a wrath to it some how, he could use it to his advantage, it too lingered, but it sang up, and up. River was pleased that he gave his howl a chance, and he made a note of his brother's howl.
"River, a white wolf that had a musical howl stayed in the pack for a good while until one rainy day when the black wolf came back hoping that his old pack would accept him back." Bobby said and went he didn't like his brother's howl it almost gave him the chills just thinking about it. He stayed in the darkness isolating himself from others, but it didn't last long. He found a few loners to tell his tales too. They too liked the stories he told, he was glad. One day after a hard winter had past he went back to his pack.
"I'm back, it looked like nothing had changed!" he was glad about that, but as he came near he seen that the others were moving away from him. He went to the den where his mother, and father stayed. River was there too. 'What a day I'm having' River thought. 'I killed another wolf, and calmed that Bobby did it. You making it to easy little brother' River almost growled at the thought.
"Bobby, why did you come back? Didn't get enough blood last night?" River taunted but made it into a growl. At this Bobby was shocked.
"I didn't do anything!" Bobby wailed "You've got to believe me!" he was looking at his father and mother. They didn't say a thing. This hurt Bobby and once he looked up he seen that River was growling and went after their parents. Bobby had to think fast and jumped in front of River only to be knocked away by his paws. River killed the unsuspecting parents of Bobby, and River. He grabbed Bobby and tossed him into the bloody ground where he rolled around in. 'I'm covered in blood!' Bobby almost wailed.
"Bobby!" River whinnied and ran out of the den "He killed our parents! He was about to kill me too!" River was in the middle of the camp grounds. He looked up and seen that Bobby was out of the den still covered in their parents blood. 'Bobby you make this too easy!' River thought almost smiling. "Bobby, your a cold blooded murderer!" River called out. Bobby shaking his head ran from the pack back into the forest. 'Who will lead us now?' the wolves started talking 'Bobby must be really holding a grudge against River.' another wolf said. "I shall lead the pack, it is my birth right." River said in a sad voice obviously faking it.
"River, you brave young wolf" a female said. "You shall follow after your father even after what had happened to you." the female finished. Bobby ran a long way and stopped scenting a boarder line. He gave a sad howl that was still mystical to the wolfs ears. The alpha let him enter and told the other to guide him in. Bobby did as he was told and later got accepted into the pack. He was happy for a good year, until he seen a wolf that had the same look as River did. He followed the wolf everywhere he could, and later found out that he had a plan of getting rid of the alpha's. He did what was right for him and killed the wolf right there and then. The other wolves seen what Bobby did and the alpha did nothing but banish him from the pack. "I saved you from a blood thirsty murderer and this is how your repay me!" Bobby called out and went in peace after that. He went back to his old pack to see whom has taken over. He found out it was his brother that did. River offered to let Bobby back into the pack, and Bobby even though he hated it he accepted. He lived miserably in the old pack for a few months, no wolf would go near him. Finally he had enough of this and told the pack he was leaving for good.
"But I thought you were happy here, Bobby?" River called out.
"I was never happy, and you know it!" Bobby called back went away from the pack for the last time. He later adopted a young pup that was seeking him out.
"Please help me! Your the only one who could!" the young brown pup said. "I'm Twist, and River killed my parents. I seen it all, please help me!" Twist wailed to the black wolf.
"Alright," he gave in. After that another wolf joined him a young pup that was hiding in a bush not to far from them. Twist sought him out and brought him back to the black wolf.
"Please, I'm waiting for my mother and father!" the young gray wolf said. "I'm Iron." he said shaking under the hard stare he was getting from the black wolf. "I know you!" Iron suddenly said "Your Black Walker! A reaper in the forest!" he said almost taking a step back. 'A reaper now!' the black wolf thought. 'River, you've gone to far!' he looked down at little Iron.
"I'm not going to eat you" he said coolly after hearing what Iron said about him eating pups that stray to far from their mothers. "Do you know what happened to your mother and father?" he asked.
"I seen them being murdered after they hid me." Iron stated "It was River that did it." he finished looking down.
"How would you like to join me, and Twist?" he asked "Little brother." he said softly to him. Iron looked up and answered yes to the black wolf. More wolves started to join him and they later been called the Crimson River Pack. Their leader Black Walker. This is where the stories about these young wolves start to take place. Follow one wolf to another. Story after story River has told about his brother were now spreading throughout the entire forest. Black Walker would try and destroy his brother before it get out of hand, he told stories about him and his brother, and how they really happened. He even told stories he told as a young pup. The famous story is the one of the waterfalls.
