• Chapter 1: missing princess

Baristonia is a kingdom, a small country at the coastlines. It’s known for its widespread green plains and successful farm crops. What separates the country from others is that it’s within the forest area. The thick trees are like a barrier or a line that shows people that they’re leaving/entering the kingdom. It’s always peaceful here and there are barely any criminals. The city, Ariona, is the only city in the country. It’s at the very center of everything. That’s also where the castle is at.
Oh yayy. My life is so complete now! I think to myself. I really do hate this place. It’s so boring because nothing ever happens! Everything I do is always the same. I wake up, dress, eat, learn, eat, shower, dress, and then go to sleep. I’m not even allowed to go outside. Too late for that, I chuckled. The wind whistled past me and I held my cap down so that it wouldn’t fly off my head. My shirt and shorts were baggy, way too big on me. Oh well just deal with it.
“Ey, is that you—” a bakery man says before I interrupt.
“Shhhh!” I hissed. “I don’t want to go back to mother and father. They’d scold me”
He remains silent for awhile, blinks, and sighs. “Oh alright, Kyo
I smile. “Thank you!” I snatched a loaf of bread that he was holding in his hands and bolted. “You’re a life saver!”
“Be careful now!” the baker shouts out to me.
I give him a quick reassuring glance then turned my attention back up ahead. The bag I carried across my shoulder kept slapping against my leg as I ran. The buildings that past by were all blocky and white. Alleys welcomed every corner. I skid to a stop and looked into one of the alleys. This is where Liny, a stray dog, lives. I chewed on my piece of bread as I scanned the grounds. Newspapers, bones, flies, ants, and some weird stains that I don’t know how it got to be there. I shoved the rest of the bread in my mouth and swallowed it down. I could’ve choked, but I didn’t.
“Hey doggy, doggy, doggy, where are youu? Linyyy” I whistled. “Here girl! Come here” no reply. Not even a simple scuttle. She’s probably roaming around the city. What a lucky dog she is. I’m so jealous. “Oof!” I stumbled forward as someone bumped into my back. There wasn’t even a simple apology from whoever did that. I turned, evil eyed, to face the jerk that dared ignore me. My hands automatically reached for the guy. “Hey!” I pulled him by his arm. “Apologize!”
He doesn’t listen to me. All I saw of him from back view was his scruffy blood red hair and black clothes. He wore a brown scarf around his neck even though it’s warm out. I tug him again, harder this time, and he turned slightly to see me. That’s when I noticed his right eye was eye-patched.
“What?” he says coolly. I wasn’t sure if it was a question because it sounded very threatening. I stared at him, at his left eye. It was a deep green, maybe blue. Like the ocean. I open my mouth to say something but got interrupted.
“Who are you?” it was a girl. She was a couple feet away from me and there was another guy standing next to her. She wore clothes that made her look like a ninja. The other guy had something huge strapped onto his back and he had on this weird headband that looked stitched together.
I stare back and forth between the three. Maybe they’re friends. I haven’t seen them around here before though. Maybe they’re travelers’ then—murderous looking ones. I blinked.
    Uh oh, I’m dead meat.
