- Bone-white fingers danced along the ivory keys, calling thunderous rhythms from the ancient copper. Silver-white hair fell over a youthful, distant face, moving slightly in the breeze from each notes tremor. The room was dark, empty, but for the organ and its occupant. He wore loose black pants, his sweat-slicked chest bare to the chilling beats of his creation. Outside the abandoned mausoleum, citizens looked around in confusion, the thick air vibrating with the sound of an unseen musician. Harder pressed the fingers, more quickly they teased across the keys, layering thunder on thunder, the deep velvet tenor or wrought iron and ivory echoing across the vast expanse. Confusion turned to worry, and then panic, as pieces of the great church began to collapse, chunks falling heavily into the earth. The streets began to crack as the shock waves hit them, shaking houses and merchant stalls mercilessly into the dust. A voice joined the music, heavier, more sensual, and somehow mocking. Archaic words twisted around the sound, lending it strength, lending it power. The small city began a descent, its people and constructs sliding thunderously into the ground's waiting jaws. Despite the primary damage, the mausoleum was untouched. The dust was well below its ornate peak, the rubble of a once prosperous civilization buried beneath a mad pianist's symphony. Stepping out onto the balcony of the ancient building, he surveyed the destruction. Then, with a fleeting smile, the enigmatic man took a deep bow, suddenly movement caught his attention, a single man wading through the stones and dust. With a quiet cracking, the musician flexed his hands. "Encore", he whispered joyfully, shaking the air with his breath. With a flourish, he returned his pale hands to the keys.
