• Chapter 11


    We got a call at three a clock in the morning. I had to answer it because Jessie and Allison were being lazy. It was the hospital. They said that Adriana could leave and that we could pick her and Aubrey up at 3 p.m.
    “That’s in a whole ten hours,” I told them, but they hung up before they could here me.
    I couldn’t fall back asleep. I went into the bathroom and took a shower. When I was done it was 4:00. Aster came over at 4:30. Iris didn’t seem too happy though.
    “If it isn’t miss failure, how are you?” Aster asked grinning.
    “Your so lucky bunny boy, that you are deaf.” She said laughing and shaking her head.
    I looked at both of them with worried eyes then I got a bad thought.
    I wonder if they like each other. Oh that would be a cute couple and cute babies. A bunny dog tiger… No wait that would be creepy. Oh god, my own self scares me.
    “Kei why is he here I want him out now!” Iris said pointing at the door.
    “But he should have a reason right.” He nodded his head.
    “As I was saying, how are you?”
    “It’s none of your business bunny boy.” I smacked her head.
    “Ow, I’m fine now that I’m with…you.” She mumbled. I translated the “I’m fine” to Aster but not the other part.
    We sat on a couch and Aster started talking bout random stuff. We thought he was here on business but apparently not. It was so hard to move my hand after translating sign language to him. Iris made me angry because she asked millions of questions and made trillions of comments. He talked for two hours straight about nothing and I fell asleep in the last minute he was talking, then Tiara, his master finally called him to heaven. I was so relived that I fell asleep but Iris tried to wake me up a lot of times.
    “So Iris I heard what you said. So you do like him.”
    “I’ve liked him ever since I saw him when I was 10, about six years ago. He was on a park bench crying and I comforted him. But since it was six years ago he probably doesn’t remember and I can’t be with I’m because he is 18 so he’s two years older then me. Besides it’s impossible to be with another guardian you should know that since you are friends with Adriana.” She said turning her head away. I kneeled down to her height and grabbed her.
    “Hey don’t be so down. She never told me that and besides if he liked you too then isn’t it better to know that he likes you. You both can return each other feelings and be happy. You can’t be together but just working together is enough, right?” I smiled and spun her around. She laughed and started to cry.
    “Your voice makes me feel better Kei. Thank you I guess it is better then nothing.” She smiled back, wiped her tears, and laughed. We started to hear fireworks go off and we looked out the window.
    “Wow there so pretty.”
    “You’re so cute Iris.” I said patting her head. She purred.
    “Should we interrupt them?”
    “No, Jessie is still sleeping so back to sleep. I can watch them.”
    “Okay Girasol, I’ll see you later.”
    “Hey, how are you doing Iris?” I turned around.
    “When did you get here Girasol?” I asked.
    “Kei!” I got tackled. Girasol is Spanish for sunflower and he is as bright as a sunflower. Whenever he sees me he gives me the biggest hug ever. He has a Kei complex as Jessie would call it. He is Allison’s guardian shape shifter. He came to her when she was 10. She told us that she was being raped and almost got killed till he came. He is 17, a year older then her, and his animal form is an owl. He is a very smart shape shifter besides his complex for me.
    “Who are you? Have we ever met before cause I don’t think we have. Well since we haven’t I’m Iris Yuki, nice to meet you.” She put her hand out for him to shake it.
    He smiled. “Well I guess this is a hello for the first time. I only know you cause all of heaven talks about you. So nice to meet you Iris, I’m Girasol Gonzales. I am nocturnal so I have to go I’ll see you later.” He shook her hand and went back to Allison’s room.
    “He seems nice.”
    “Oh you got that right.” I said patting her head. She purred and turned into a tiger. She walked into the guestroom and when I walked in there she was asleep, purring.
    I smiled and got on the bed. I laid down, turned on the radio on the night stand, and fell asleep.

    “Kei can you get up, you are so annoying with saying my name in your sleep.” Iyanjo said shaking me.
    “Oh hi Iyanjo how are you. Wait, when the heck did you get here?”
    “Allison let me in at 10:00.” He said looking around.
    “Its 11:00 now, wait; I need to call my aunt. My mom and little sister are there. Hand me my phone please. Did you say I was saying your name in my sleep?” I asked dialing the phone number.
    He nodded his head and then sat on the bed.
    “Hi Kei sweetie, how are you doing at Allison’s house?” My mom asked.
    “Good mom, but you are buying a new house tomorrow, right?”
    “Kei I already bought one. Do you know where your father is anyways? He never came here and the last time I saw him or talked to him was four days ago.”
    “I thought he did, wasn’t his business trip over yesterday.”
    “I’m not sure but he hasn’t called anyone and none of his bosses have seen him for over two days.”
    I listened to my mom and Iyanjo turned on the T.V. He turned it to the news and I saw my dad.
    “Mom I found him turn on the News.” I heard my mom started to cry.
    The T.V. had said, “We have just found Kaito Yukisho’s body. It looks like his left
    Rib cage, liver, and kidney have been ripped out of his body and he has been strangled.” Then Iyanjo turned off the T.V. My mom hung up the phone and I started weeping out in pain.
    Iyanjo tried to comfort me but Iris did it instead. She was very comforting and Iyanjo was very jealous.
    One thing ran through my mind though, If my dad got killed and the same thing happened to Michael then that person is the same person. I think he’s after more too.
    “Hey stop thinking bad thoughts. I know how you feel.” Iris said laughing at Iyanjo.
    “Ha I was right; you can read my mind, so you do have a special power.” I said standing up and pointing.
    “Let’s see I can read any ones mind especially lover boy over there.
    I hate that girl so much. Who is she any ways? I want to kiss Kei again his lips are soft. Is exactly what he is thinking.” She said smiling.
    I blushed and Iyanjo froze.
    I burst out laughing and Iyanjo was still frozen. “Keep going please.”
    “Okay, ah this is not a safe person. Wait I need to get out of here before she reads any more. Wait, she is, but I can’t move! Ah I know I’ll stop thinking. Stop reading my mind stupid little girl.”
    He got up and left the room. We looked at each other and laughed.
    “Was he really thinking that?” I asked opening the door.
    “Yeah he was, he must really like you if he is thinking about kissing your soft lips.”
    “Kei you’re finally awake!” Girasol said tackling me.
    “Hi Girasol, how are you?” I said patting his head.
    He hooted and I said, “I love your hoot Girasol. It’s so cute!”
    He looked at me with surprised eyes and buried his head in my chest.
    “I love you Kei. Why couldn’t my master assign me to you? Allison is cool but you’re much cooler.” He mumbled. We hugged for a couple of minutes then Girasol caught Iyanjo’s glare. He turned into an owl and landed on his head. He pecked his head and pooped on it. All of laughed so hard and he started to cry.
    I went over to him and gave him a hug. Everyone looked at us in amazement but I kept smiling and hugging him. He hugged back but Girasol still continued to peck his head. I laughed again and stopped hugging Iyanjo. I waved to Girasol and he came towards me.
    “Don’t hurt him. I think I love him so no touchy touchy, okay?” I whispered in his ear.
    He looked at me stunned and flew away from me to Jessie.
    “What the heck is wrong with him? I wonder if I should ask Iris to read his mind.”
    “Why are you reading my mind again, Iris?!” I yelled.
    “Oh because you were the only one thinking, besides I need to read someone’s mind at all times or else I’ll go into a coma.” She said.
    “Why are you reading it aloud?” I asked. “It just came out, sorry.”
    I looked at her confused then I looked around the room. Allison wasn’t in the room and Iyanjo had gone to the bathroom. I looked at Jessie and then the clock.
    Its eleven thirty now. So we have at least 3 hours and 30 minutes. That’s enough time to clean up this excuse for an apartment.
    “Allison, get out here now so we can clean up your house. I don’t want to live in a pigsty for the rest of the day!”
    ”Oh I forgot to tell you Kei, Allison left earlier to the hospital.” Jessie said Patting Girasol’s head. He hooted and flew to the floor. He walked over to me and transformed.
    “Kei We should go some where nice today. You won’t be here much longer so we might as well go-“
    “Oh yeah Iyanjo hurry up, were going outside like Girasol suggested.” I said picking up Girasol.
    “I’m coming, don’t nag me. You sound like my mother.” He said walking out.
    I went over to him and grabbed his arm. “Let us head out now and Jessie, lock the door on your way out. Wait Girasol why are you up. Aren’t you nocturnal?”
    “As long as you’re with me I can go through the sun.” I blushed. Holy crap he really does love me. Dang it I hate when Jessie is right.
    “Alright, enough touching my master,” Iris came over to me and pulled my arm. I pulled Iyanjo with me and Girasol followed me. We waited for Jessie to lock the door. When he got done we walked to the bus stop. We got on the bus and Jessie started talking about how this was the first place he got to kiss Allison with out her hitting him. I’ve heard the story so many times I could say all the things about it with every little detail. After the part of Allison yelling at Jessie’s brother I fell asleep.
