Chapter two: Road less taken
weeks of hot uneventful agony have passed. I still have 5 weeks of summer left. Normal kids would be dreading september. I yearn for it. Normal kids also have friends and sister that notice them. I try to keep in touch with my friends back home. Im always on MSN but no one else is. They are all out and about with their friends going to the beach and camping. I've been in cyber chat rooms a lot lately. Everyone is always nagging about how dangerous they are. They can only be dangerous if your stupid. I have been talking to a very intriguing man. His username is Juventus, but his real name is Kaamil. He's a smart kid, especially for only being a year older than me. He has told me about his fascination with greek mythology. Juventus, in fact, is the greek god of youth. Kaamil is the kind of person that would want to keep his youthfulness. He's a really creative person, and I would love to get to know him better. I added him to my MSN and we talk daily. I often save our conversations because they are full of interesting topics and ideas. I printed a few of them out and pasted them into my diary. That may sound creepy to you, but when you have an entire summer to yourself, you get desperate for entertainment.
Our first msn chat:
Juventus has logged in!
Me: Hey, there!
Juventus: Hey, hows it going?
Me: Uhhg, I want summer to end. It's too ht and crowded in this house. My mom could have at least waited for Kayla to go off the collage for us to move!
Juventus: Whose Kayla?
Me: My sister...
Juventus: That must be sad. Having you sister leaving for collage. Where is she going?
Me: Not at all. More space, less fighting. She is going somewhere out of the province. I can't remember where though.
Juventus: I have always wanted a sibling. Maybe a twin, we could dress the same and confuse people! God, that would be fun.
Me: LOL! That would be awesome. I'm more of a one of a kind, kind of girl. Having another me would be too weird.
Juventus: Won't you get lonely with your sister being gone? If it were me- I would have gotten used to having her around. Won't it feel awkward with her not there?
Me: It's awkward with her here. You know what I have always wanted to do... But never had the guts?
Juventus: What's that?
Me: Run away. Sometimes I make plans to do it in my head, and think of all the amazing stories I would have to tell. I feel so free, just making the plan to do it. It would be amazing to actually do it.
Juventus: Then why don't you?
Me: I have to finish school, get a job, earn a living. I don't know how to find food or fight off enemies. I would die out there... I'm dying here too though.
Juventus: LOL, well you see if you run away. Don't go alone, you would have a better chance of surviving. You save up money and buy food. Maybe find a talent like guitar playing. Y'know something you can do on the street for money... Other than selling your body... Ha ha! Not everyone was built to take the path that is given to us. Sometime we have to travel the road less taken to find true happiness. I hope that didn't sound too cheesy...
Me: No, It sounded perfect.
Juventus: Well I have to go, diner. Bye!
Me: Bye
Juventus has logged off.
That gave me a lot to think about. I think I need to find a friend, a talent, and save up some money.
