• "Miranda Panda! Wake up!" My mother screamed to wake me. I shot up out of bed and flew down the stairs.
"Hey mom. What'cha makin' for breakfast?" I asked.
"Just get to school." My mother ordered. She is never like this. Maybe she drank last night. I headed out the door, trying NOT to be late for my bus. Luckily, I wasn't late.
"Miranda! What's up?" Felisha called. I'm kind of popular here at Lakeview High in Minnesota.
The bus stopped in front of Lakeview. I got off the bus and calmly walked over to my real friends. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain whizz across my face.
"Miranda, you need a mirror, and fast!" Mikayla told me. I snatched the mirror out of her shaking hands and put my face into focus. "It looks like some kind of tribal marking..." Mikayla informed me.
"I know. I can kind of see it on my face." I snapped at her. I studied the mirror as the "tribal markings" grew to overcome my face. "I need to call my mom." I whipped out my cell phone and dialed my house number.
"Yes, Miranda?" My mother asked me.
    "I need to come home."
    "Why?"
"Well, Mikayla noticed this kind of tribal marking growing all over my face and she let me use her mirror and I saw for myself."
    "I'll come pick you up."
At that moment, my mother arrived in the loop to pick up the kids. She stepped from her car and went into the office to sign me out. As soon as she saw my face, she gasped.
"Oh...My...God....Miranda, you do need to come home."
I climbed into her car and we drove home. As soon as we got home, she called my doctor.
"Mr. Georg? Can we set up an appointment for Miranda? She came home from school with the tribal markings all over her face. Please? We need some answers!"
