It started out like any normal day. Wake up and get ready for another day of school. It’s been that way for as long as I can remember. It was warm when I stepped out of the darkness from my house to what seemed a perfect world in a perfect reality. Houses lined up in perfect rows with perfect lawns. It made me sick. I was late for my bus as usual. I proceeded to head for the bus but when I got there it drove off like I wasn’t even there. Well, who needed school anyway? I was just another teenage rebel. I decided to call my dad from my cell phone and ask him for a ride. I dialed the numbers but all I could hear was silence. I saw a name on the main display of my phone – Aiden. The name seemed very familiar.
Aiden, the name hung at the tip of my tongue as I whispered it. I proceeded to walk home. I reached the door on my blue pastel painted house, unlocked the door and entered. It was like nothing I remembered. Everything was twisted. A hall stood before me. It was lined with doors that continued as far as I could see. I continued to walk through the hall; walls painted pure white, doors black with obsidian plates and white numbers. They looked like doors you would see in a hotel. My footsteps echoed with each stride I took. There was a door with a number that caught my eye, 4/1/1994. I opened the door and stepped through but there was no floor, no solid ground. I was falling into what seemed a black abyss. I closed my eyes hoping the constant descent would end.
