• The fog. School was canceled because of it. It was so thick that you couldn’t see your hand if you stuck it inside of it.

Kiena Matsuki was staring at it. The fog was higher than a mountain would be not that there were any around of course. Her best friend Briana had spent lots of time playing in the fog with her. But since they couldn’t see it was playing blindly so they quit. Instead she decided to watch it inside. She stepped outside and felt her shoulder length black hair fly back in the wind.

“It’s dinner time Kia! I guess everyone up here is lazy,” teased Kiena’s sister Sakaya. Kiena ran and felt her small body bounce as she ran, she loved that feeling.

After dinner Kiena took a shower and went to bed. When she woke up the fog was gone. In it’s place were two mountains. And in between was a valley with flowers and grass and a lake that had clear, sparkling water.

Staring at it was two people. Briana Kasineta, Kiena’s best friend who was from Ohio, she was tall with long brown hair. Then there was Laretta (Lary) Jones , She was tall and had long straight blonde hair.

“This must be a joke until you two came I was wondering if I was the only one who could see it,” Scoffed Lary.

Then a mouse scuttled by and stared at them. He paused for a second. Then said:

“You’re looking at the mountains of magic so… you must be chosen ones.” Exclaimed the talking mouse. Kiena stared blankly at it.

    “You…you talk,” stammered Briana.

“What do you mean by the chosen three,” asked Lary rudely.

“Don’t ask me. Ask the magical creatures, mice are perfectly normal. First go to the rock in the center of the pond and talk to the mermaids. Then talk to the dwarves and pixies in the valley. Then the dragon on the mountain to the right. Then if they don’t know climb the left mountain and talk to the wind fire sorcerer. Sayonara.” Cried the mouse.

“That means goodbye in Japanese,” Kiena informed them seeing as she was from Japan. So they got changed and went to the lake.

“Wait, Kia water is so your element. Talk to the mermaids. I’ll go see the dragon on the right mountain and Lary…” Briana’s voice trailed off.

“I’ll go see the dwarves and pixies in the valley.” Lary volunteered.

So they went their separate ways. Kiena stepped into the crystal clear water. It felt really nice. But Briana wouldn’t understand that she loves dragons and didn’t want to admit that she couldn’t swim. Kiena swam a little ways and stopped at the rock. Kiena saw a mermaid swim through the water and come to the rock. The mermaid had aqua blue hair. The mermaid sang and that was pretty much the most beautiful sound Kiena had ever heard.

“Hello. Do you know about the chosen three,” asked Kiena.

“Sorry, I do not but you can ask the wind fire sorcerer, he chose you and brought us here. By the way I am Roma. Goodbye.” Kiena quickly went home got changed and headed towards the left mountain to wait.

“Okay, why can’t they build an elevator on this mountain,” sighed Briana. She was about half-way up the mountain she had changed and was running the whole way so far so she was tired.

“I don’t know about an elevator but would you like a lift,” Came a voice from above her. She looked up and there was a marvelous dragon who was the color of emeralds.

“I am the Emerald Dragon. It is nice to meet you, chosen one Briana” said the dragon formally.

“Do you know about the chosen three” asked Briana.

“I know plenty but not about that. I know it will be hard but you have to meet the wind fire sorcerer immediately. I can take you to the foot of the left mountain but no further do you understand? For Galcott is coming. The earth ocean sorceress is with the wind fire sorcerer. Go right away.” The emerald dragon flew off with Briana on her back. Occasionally doing tricks and pausing for the effects on Briana.

Meanwhile after Lary changed she went to the meadow. On her way there she saw an old prophetess who instantly talked to her.

“Laretta, sometime in the close future you will change. Right now you care only for yourself and are scared to believe in this. Have courage chosen one. In the future you will save Kiena’s life risking your own and it will be of you own free will. That will mark change and you will awaken the earth spirit. It is so for that is what I, Magen, declare” Said the prophetess in a possessed voice.

Lary screamed and ran deeper into the meadow. She looked back to see how far she had run when she saw two little men looking guys except she could tell that they weren’t men. She turned to one of them.

    “are you um a dwarf?”

“That I am miss.” he replied.

“And are you one of them chosen ones?” asked the other. “I am an elf. The name’s Peerks and his is Dwalish. Uh, this is Totalia the pixie chief. Nice to meet you. You already know Uchiha here right?” He asked pointing at the mouse.

“Um my name is Chuhiha and of course she knows me” squeked the mouse.

“I was going to ask-“started Lary.

“Ask us about the chosen three well we can’t until there are four Lets go to the wind fire sorcerer. Want to ride on Claya the unicorn?” Asked the dwarf, Dwalish.

“Sure I haven’t ever ridden on one before” whispered Lary as they brought it out. She stared in aw at its magnificent beauty.

“Of course you haven’t ridden on one of them before. Claya and Cliff are the only ones of their breed left and them unicorns only live here,” replied Peerks. The ride was so wonderful even a beginning nature lover, like Lary would have enjoyed it.

Kiena waited for five minutes and then took out a whistle and blew three sharp blows to show she was going when she felt hot and saw perfectly aimed flames land right beside her. She glanced up and saw a beautiful emerald colored dragon. It landed and Briana climbed off and hugged the dragon.

“Thank you Emerald,” she whispered. Emerald flew off. Then they heard hooves. A unicorn appeared and it seemed to be blind. Kiena held her breath and blew hard into her whistle. The unicorn walked over to it. Lary, Dwalish, Totalia, and Chuhiha slid off.

“Everyone is here so let’s go” yelled Kiena, her voice echoed. So they started up the mountain. They saw a stream that led down to the lake and in it they saw two amazing things.

“Roma!” cried Kiena. But that wasn’t all. There was a water dragon. It was the exact same shade of aqua as Roma’s hair.

“Isn’t it beautiful I never knew there were water dragons,” murmured Briana.

“I am the Aqua dragon” said Aqua kindly. “I hear you have met my cousin Emerald, chosen one Briana,” questioned the aqua dragon. They went on Aqua and Roma were going to go as far as the stream would let them. Finally they reached the top. They went and knocked on a shut rock in front of the cave. No one answered.

“Ha! I knew it they don’t exist. They don’t exist. This must be a bad dream. Mice don’t talk. These creatures are mythical and sorcerers and sorceresses don’t exist.”

Kiena was normally nice. But something Lary said bugged her. She didn’t know what it was and she didn’t think twice about it. She just slapped Lary across the face.

To Kiena and Briana’s surprise Lary started crying.

“My life isn’t perfect you know. My dad used to beat me up when I believed in magic. But now I don’t just think I know it’s real. You have my ideal life Kiena. You are always so happy,” sobbed Lary.

“ My life is not perfect either Lary. I am to afraid to speak my mind so I just say what makes the other person happy. I have everything bottled up so much that I cry at night wondering how I can pull off another day, slapping you was a first for me,” she grinned guiltily.

“Let’s go in Kia and Lary.” Whispered Briana. When the door opened.

They walked in the cave and there was the sorcerer and sorceress. Chuhiha nudged the sorceress and whispered something to her she nodded and whispered back.

“Galcott the dark sorcerer is coming and it’s up to you to stop him,” said the Earth Ocean sorceress.

“We can’t help you,” added the Wind Fire sorcerer.

“Awaken your true element and you will win. Fire hasn’t com yet but any fire will do be resourceful and try your best. Briana, light and air light is a very special thing it is darkness’s worst enemy. Lary you have earth and courage there is no cowardice person so you have no worst enemy. And Kiena don’t be sad you have water and happiness you are the worst enemy of sadness,” said the Earth Ocean sorceress. Lary and Briana looked excited but Kiena for some reason did not look happy.

“I haven’t ever been truly happy,” sighed Kiena.

“Then learn how. Briana has never before been a source of light and Lary has never been brave but look at them. Now you will learn when the time is right. Now go!” Ordered the Wind Fire Sorcerer.

They left. When they stepped outside they felt a mountain side chill. They walked on no one else came with them. Then they saw a man. He was handsome but he also had this evil look about him. It was Galcott.

“New chosen ones huh? Well I’ll just finish you before you become too much of a problem. Darkness!” He cried. Briana didn’t do anything right away. She just stared or at least tried to. Have you ever had a dream and you were in darkness? Well this was at least ten times worse. She sighed. I can’t give in I’m light, thought Briana. She was too scared to scream. Suddenly a gust of wind came and took hold of her lifting her up.

“Not my friends,” She cried when the darkness had almost completely taken hold of Kiena since she was the smallest.

“Oh ancient powers of wind and light help me. With a gust of wind bring us out of the darkness and into the light.” Briana ordered. And to her astonishment, the wind obeyed. It was so strong that it swept her and Lary off their feet and sent Kiena flying over to the ledge, an over hanging above the river.

Garcott grinned. He stared at Kiena she was trembling as he watched her but she was okay.

“Well I guess I will just take the smallest one first then. Darkness!” He cried. Briana only could watch but Lary had already started running. She did the bravest thing ever. She ran and pushed Kiena out of the way. But in the process she fell off the ledge.

“Earth help me.” She muttered hoping it would work. Earth started flying up fast. It hurt but she lived. And she had done it she had conquered earth.

“Thank you for saving me Lary it made me… truly happy.” Suddenly water spurted up into the air. With out thinking Kiena and Lary hugged each other.

“Thank you” they both whispered at the same time. They ran over to Briana and they turned to Galcott.

“Oh good you didn’t forget about me darkness sucks in happiness, courage and light. All the things you worked so hard for. I used to be good you know but everyone has a dark side. Mine just happened to consume me. I wasn’t going to kill you just help your dark side take over.” He smirked. He glanced at their eyes.

“And it worked on you the slightest bit.” He said pointing at Lary.

They turned to Galcott again and used their elemental powers. First Kiena made an orb of water. Then Briana made a tornado around it and Lary made rocks spin around in the tornado. They aimed it at Galcott but it wasn’t very effective. Then Emerald came and blew fire on it and they made it go to Galcott again and he got knocked down.

“I will be back he” called and started running down the mountain.

Roma and Aqua came to congratulate Kiena on her stunning water performance.

“Congratulations chosen one you are worthy to be air and light. But you will not do much good without fire/hope. You are strong but evil continues to get stronger. Good luck. But right now you deserve relaxation. Goodbye.” The Emerald dragon said to Briana.

“Miss you are looking good.” Said Dwalish to Lary.

“Goodbye everyone.” Uchiha cried as they walked out.

Once they left the mountain it remained. But only the three of them could see it. They became best friends. And no time had passed.

They didn’t know it but their journey had only just began…
