• Will I live my life alone?
People say that loneliness is a state of mind, but is that really true?

Dreaming is pleasant, but at the same time, you know that it is not real.
Yet, I stilI want to believe in dreams.
People say that you must achieve your own dreams to make them come true.
What happened to the belief of fate?

At school, my teachers tell me that I must work hard to achieve my dreams.
My magazines tell me how to get your crush's attention, or how to get that guy to go out with you.
Who am I supposed to believe?

This world is confusing me, and it is too overwhelming.
I had to sit down on a bench to keep myself from getting dizzy.
I accidentally bumped into someone, so I said, 'I'm sorry"
I looked up and saw this tall guy staring at me.
The look that he was giving me was so familiar, and so distant at the same time.

He held out something, and said, "You dropped this,"
I looked at it, and I yelped. "My sketchbook!" I grabbed it and clutched it really tightly.
Then, I remembered my manners and said, "Thank you! This is really important to me!"
He laughed and said, "Yeah, I thought so." What?? How could he tell??? Am I that readable?
Then he cleared his throat, and asked, "Do you want to go eat something? It's lunch."
I was really surprised, so I said, "What?" Omg, I must look so ditzy!
    He said, "Do-you-want-to-go-eat-some-thing-with-me?" really slowly.
"I'm not retarded, so you don't have to talk to me like I'm a little kid," I joked.
He laughed, and said, "So do you?"
    "Um...O...K...?" I was really hesitant.
"That's good. It seems like you need company," he said.
"What? Am I that predictable??" I yelped.
"Nah. It's just that you seem really out of it in class," he explained.
    "Huh?"
"I'm in your English class," he said.
"What?? Ohmygod, I'm sorry!" I squeaked.
He laughed. "You're more animated than I thought, it seems,"
    "What?"
    "Never mind."

We spent the rest of the lunch period talking about whatever we thought was interesting.
I asked him, "Hey, are you sure you want to eat lunch with me? What about your friends?"
He had this strange look on his face. "I don't really have any friends." he said. "I'm pretty much a loner,"
Oh, I thought. That would explain a lot of things. 'Well, then, would you like to meet me tomorrow?" I suggested. "We could meet at lunch near the cafe," Then, seeing the look on his face, I said quickly, "Never mind, it's a weird idea,"
He said, "Nah, it's OK. I don't have anything else to do," Then he frowned and said, "But there's one problem,"
    "What?"
"I don't really know your name," he confessed.
    "Oh. I'm Alexis."
He smiled. "Nice to meet you, Alexis. My name is Alex."

Just at that moment, the bell rang, and he said, "Damn, I'll catch you later OK? Lunch, tomorrow near the cafe?"
I smiled for the first time in a few months. "Catch you later," I called.
