We were prisoners of an oblivious place. Dark and cold. But the door of freedom was opened by some unknown miracle. But only one will survive. We were released and everyone wants to survive including me. I wanted be that ONE to survive!! At the other side of this dark place, there was someone who will save us. It was a race for us. With millions and millions of opponents. It was a survival of the fittest to see who could reach the finish line first. It’s me against million, yes indeed millions and anyone could finish the race first but I wasn’t going to lose. I wanted to win even the chance is 1%.
I swam past the others. And some were gaining on me. But NO!! I won’t let that happen I swam to my fullest. My body was tired and I don’t know how long I will carry this but, still, I swam. As I turned back to see who’s gaining on me, I saw some died. They couldn’t take the water, the coldness and especially the tiredness so they stopped and rested forever. I felt pity for them, because they never got the chance to see the future. But I was happy because that added up my chance of surviving.
The place we were released was another sad, dark, cold place and we were all oblivious of what danger awaits for us. As I swam into this oblivious place thoughts came to me: What if I won’t make it?? What if someone had already got there or found its place. And I saw another overtaking me, but it suddenly dropped dead. I was scared~ to tell you the truth, afraid that death will come to me too.
As day passed by, we became fewer and fewer. But even though, my opponents were hard to beat. They were strong. I’m almost out of my energy, but nevertheless, I want to win.
I know on the other side was a person who will save me, even if I die it will give me another life. Even though I don’t know or ever met that person I know it will complete me. Each of us prisoners were not complete, there has always been a missing part of us only to be completed by the person waiting for us on the other side if we were lucky.
The tiredness was overtaking my body I could feel the numbness. I couldn’t take it anymore; I want to rest like the others. Suddenly I felt the cold no more, warmth hugging me. And light was visible. I swam to that place. And there it was!! The person who will save me, its hand reaching out. I swam to that place, but when I looked at my side someone was already nearing it… No! No! No! NOOO!! I won’t allow that to happen. I gave all my remaining energy. I reached it as last!! My other self. The person who will complete me.
I won! I survive the darkness and the coldness. I lay in its tender arms and we are starting to do our metamorphosis, of combining ourselves to one. To create a life. And soon we will be able to see the future and the world, with what we created.
