• We went back up one floor and saw a couple of engineers that looked crazy an confused. "Hey you two come lets go we need to get outa here!" Kevin shouted, i on the other hand thought they were insane an paranoid, it didn't matter thought they needed to be evacuated. "Come on your protection is our top priority!" he yelled again. It seemed like they didn't even know we were there. Finally we ran up to them an told them to follow us. Although it seemed like they didn't understand us they still followed our lead.
    We escorted them back to our squad and set them in the life pod. They still looked crazy even after we set them in it. When we were about to make our second round the life pod suddenly launched. We all turned and saw the life pod leaving its chamber, when all of a sudden a plasma beam shot up and destroyed it. "Holy s**t!" Markus yelled in shock.
    "Damn now we need to find another life pod." sarg said with disapointment. We then moved down the corridor and saw two more life pods. "Look the blast door it's closing!" Markus yelled. We all tried to rush through, but only sarg, Dom and Kevin made it. "You two better move it quick before all these pods are launched." sarg said quickly. Markus and I would have to find another way around to reach them or find another life pod. "Awww we're screwed man!" Whinned Markus, but i reasured him that we'll make it.
    I saw a maintenance hallway down the corridor and said we'll go through that. I went in and he followed behind. It was dark and the sirens echoed within the hallways. I turned on my my flashtip on my rifle so i could see better. I turned around the next corner and a grunt who seemed to be lost saw me and started shooting. Since the walls were so compact i couldn't evade the plasma shots. I retaliated with my rifle giving it a few burst in its skull. The plsma burn on my left arm stung, but didn't keep me from moving.
    We reached the end of the hallway and exited. I then heard talking amongst the covenant which wasn't far from our postion. Peeking my head around the corner i saw one elite and one grunt. "This just gets better an better..." I said softly.
    "This'll be easy, you get one an i'll get the other." Markus said confidently. This time there was no plan, just fire at will. We then engaged them in a fire fight. I checked my clip and i was dry. "Damn...Markus you got an extra clip?" i asked.
    "No, man you better find something quick of that elite might rush on us." Markus was right it would get an idea an will try to come up close.
    Markus took out the grunt and started concentrating on the elite. "Ricky you better have found something else cause im close to bein empty!" he said in a heavy way. I looked around and saw a body of a dead tech with a pistol next to him. I crawled over and got it. I checked the magizine and it was full. "Markus move I got this one!" I said cocking the pistol back. I turned the corner an started shooting. I got three shot on it before my pistol got jammed. I shot its left leg right shoulder and right forearm, making it drop its plasma rifle. I unjammed my sidearm but it was too late, the elite ran up to me grabbing me by my neck and thrusting me into the air. Before the elite regained balance, Markus bashed the butt of his rifle into the elites skull instantly killing it. I got to my feet and thanked Markus. "Now lets get outa here!" Markus said, his entire body shaking from his adrenaline rush.
    We ran down the hall and turned left and saw another life pod getting ready to launch. "Hold it!" we both yelled while sprinting over to get in. We got inside out of breath and saw more soldiers inside. Once we sat down and strapped ourselfs in the pod luanched setting us all back in our seats. Once we launched out the chamber we saw the Pillar of Autumn flying critically damaged. It flew in the direction on the halo figure in flames. I saw the terrified expressions of everyones faces as we were flying. "We just entered the halos atmosphere, so sit tight this'll be one hell of a ride." the pilot said. I then wondered what happend to the rest of our squad and chief.....
