• Chapter one:
    hate filled tears

“Ha-ha!” Yelled Ricca as she slid down the rope that was hooked to one of the boats beams.

“Ricca! Don’t scare me like that!” Yelled Ricca’s elder sister Annie.

Ricca rolled her eyes and sighed. She was tired of her sister being so jumpy. She needed some real excitement in her life. She looked at her sister.

“Your boring Annie. You never do anything to add excitement to your life! You just sit in the boats main quarters and sleep. Or do whatever you do down there… You need to jump around and be silly and.. Un-boring!” Yelled Ricca as she jumped around the boat frantically.

Ricca stood up on the edge of the boat and stared at the small village they stopped at. When her sister had told her they were going far away, and were going to live on the seas, only protected by the knifes hidden in their pockets, that they would be pirates or something! But no, instead they were just sea wanderers who stopped at random villages to collect supplies. How…. Boring..

“Well, Ricca what do you want, huh?! Do you want to just go out their unprepared and get killed for carelessness?!?!”

Looking down at her sister, Ricca showed true emotion in her eyes. “No. No I don’t Annie. But do you want to know what I want? I want to go out there, on the deep sea and sail. I want to find treasures, I want to meet more people like me, I want to fight for my freedom! I want to be… a-a Pirate!” She stared out at the sea with a look of mischief and excitement.

It was destroyed quickly though with her sister pushing her off the boat. “WAAHH!!!” She yelled as she flew forward.

Lucky her though, she was still holding onto the rope. She dangled over the edge of the boat as her sister started to move it. “That enough excitement for you Miss, Iwannabeapirate?”

Ricca continued dangling over the side of the boat. She looked down at the water and smiled. She actually liked doing this. She got to swing and scream and giggle to her hearts desire! But she decided to get some payback on Annie for pushing her over the boat. She stayed completely quiet, and didn’t move. She swayed occasionally as to not stay bored, but she did it quietly. Smirking to herself, she climbed up the rope, until she was right under the ridge of the boat rim. She hid herself underneath it and giggled silently.

“Hey Ricca. Where should we go now?” called out Annie. She got nervous when there was no response. “R-Ricca? You can come up now…”

Silence filled the air and strangled Annie like a burning rope. She rushed out over to the edge of the boat and peered over. No sign of her sister. “RICCA?!?!?!?” screamed Annie as she pulled on the rope. She pulled it the whole way up, and Ricca was nowhere. “Ricca?! Ricca!!! Ricca where are you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Annie screamed over and over.

Ricca finally couldn’t contain herself and laughed maniacally as she stood up on the boats edge. Annie turned to her with tear filled eyes. “R-ricca?”

Ricca laughed and sat down as she wiped away a tear she had made while laughing. Annie glared at her so hatefully, Ricca thought that it would bare a hole in her chest. Annie growled and grabbed Ricca’s shoulders roughly.

“Ow!!! Annie! Let go!” cried out Ricca as she felt her sisters fingernails dig into her skin.

Annie simply growled and pushed Ricca, then turned around and started to walk away. But..

Annie had pushed Ricca harder than she thought she did, and Ricca started to fall backwards off the boat. The last thing Annie heard was a horror filled scream, and a splash. She zipped around and saw Ricca not there. She ran over to the edge to see Ricca bobbing up and down in the water, clawing at the water and gasping for air.

Annie panicked and threw a rope at her. As Ricca reached for the rope, a wave appeared behind her. She screamed just before the hurtling water plunged down on top of her and pulling her under.

Ricca’s brown hair buzzed around her, and her blue eyes stung as the salt water covered them. She pried at the water, but was tangled in seaweed. Bubbles of air escaped her mouth as she tugged at the seaweed. Nothing happened. She pulled and pulled, feeling more and more light headed. Her vision darkened more until the only thing she saw was a faint glimpse of the seaweed releasing her, and then everything in Ricca’s world went blank.
