Once upon a time, there was a beautiful village where I lived for whole my life. During my time in the village, I have befriended many people as I go and help them in ways I could think of as well since I knew that was the right thing to do. My family was wealthy enough to get me through life as they also hired an private tutor for my education. I could still remember the day that I have met her. I was coming home from helping out an elderly couple one day as I saw my father awaiting for me in front of our home with a beautiful girl that I have never seen in my life. The girl had a dazzling smile on her face with blonde hair, blue eyes as she shone through the light of the sun. I immediately fell in love with her as my father introduced us.

"Son, this is your new private teacher, Rika. Rika, this is my son Blaze," my father said.

I smiled at the girl and we both shook shook hands as I knew that my life would be completely different from now on now that the girl was here to teach me. That was reaccurently a year ago as I was twelve back then and Rika was already seventeen. I couldn't fall in love with her as I knew it was forbidden. What would people think if they knew about it? They would probably hang us! I shuddered briefly at the idea as I walked quickly to my destination which was the open field where people hang out and have fun most of the time. It was also there where Rika and I have our lessons together everyday starting after breakfast and end towards the evening.

"Blaze, what was the idea of the story that I was telling you?" Rika's voice asked.

I blinked as I turned to look at her. Rika was teaching me literature as she was telling me one of the famous stories. Apparently, I wasn't listening at all as I was too engrossed to what I was thinking. "What did you say, Rika?" I asked.

Rika frowned at me, "You've been zoning off lately these days. Is something wrong?" She asked.

Yes! I thought as I wanted to scream it out loud. But I shook my head, "No. We better get this finish before sundown," I said.

Rika gave me her beautiful smile, "I think we are done for the day. You did well Blaze," she praised me.

I beamed as we got up from the grass and brush out the grasses that were stuck on our clothing as we walked towards to where my home was. We were half way home to my home as I couldn't take it anymore with this...this thing that I have about Rika! I stopped my walking as she did as well.

"Blaze, what's wrong?" Rika asked worriedly.

I shook my head as I leaned towards her and gave her a quick kiss before Rika could react. Rika blushed bright red at the contact but she immediately shook it off making me feel disappointed.

    "We shouldn't..." Rika muttered.

I understood what she was saying. It wasn't like people around here would be happy for us at all. The kiss was immediately forgotten as Rika brought me home and we went to our separate ways that night. It was no coincidence that after that day, Rika and I were feeling awakard every time we see each other. It went on like that for about a month or so and that Rika finally gave up and gotten an excuse to tell father that she couldn't teach me anymore.

I know that it was wrong for me to evasdrop and know that if I did, I would probably get punishment from father. So instead, I helped mother in the kitchen as a few minutes later, I heard the front door opening and closing and I saw Rika leaving my home without even turning back.

"Father, everything went well?" I asked as soon as I saw him coming into the kitchen.

Father sighed as he sat on one of the chairs. "It's your choice Blaze. Do you want to go back to the old school or have another private tutor?" He asked.

I didn't want to happen again like I did with Rika and so, I decided to go back to the old school and see my friends again. Years and years had gone by as I hadn't heard or seen Rika in the village. My parents have died with illness and I was now living back home all by myself. I hadn't found that special someone yet to live with me my whole entire life with. But something amazing have happened one day as I was shopping at the old marketplace.

I wasn't paying any attention to something as I looked up and something have caught my eye. My eyes widened at the girl who was not too far away from me as she had blonde hair hanging all down just like Rika's! Not too many people were blonde in my village. The girl have turned around as she was talking to the person who worked at the small store. I stay putted into the spot as my thoughts were chanting 'look at me!'

The two have finished speaking to one another as the girl paid for her purchased and as she turned around, she spotted me right in front of her. Her eyes widened as she immediately who I was. "Blaze...?" She asked softly as I smiled at her.

"Rika, no time long seen," I said as my heart felt like there was a crowd of people cheering me on. I shook the feeling off of it as I just wanted to be friends with Rika and nothing else more of it.

Rika shifted nervously where she was standing, "Um, do you want to catch up for old times sake?" She asked.

I nodded with a small smile, "Sure. Just let me finish my shopping here," I said.

As I purchased my stuff, I looked back at Rika who was waiting for me at the spot. She and I were good friends. However, the circumstances of just being friends are unknown to me and to her as well.
