Chapter 1- The Mission
“Oi! Hinata-chan! Where are you?” yelled an obnoxious voice.
“O-oh... Hi Naruto-kun...” Hinata whispered, her face taking a light pink color. Naruto turned around.
“Hey, Granny Tsunade has a mission for us.” Naruto said, starting off in the direction of the Hokage estate. He turned around to see if Hinata was following. The Hyuuga girl had disappeared.
“Oi! Hinata-chan! Stop hiding! Granny Tsunade will pummel me if I don’t hurry up!” Naruto waited for a reply before shrugging and starting on his way again. When he made it to the Hokage estate, Hinata was standing there with her eyes faced toward the ground, as if she had been convicted of a crime of some sort.
“Oi! Baka, where have you been?!” Tsunade yelled.
“Umm... H-hi Naruto-kun...” Hinata waved slightly, not taking her eyes off of the ground.
“Hey! Why did you desert me Hina-chan?” Naruto asked, a slight anger in his voice. Hinata’s head shot up, a light pink taking its place on Hinata’s face. Her head shot back down.
“I-I’m sorry N-Naruto-kun... Forgive me...” Hinata whispered. These words shocked Naruto. ‘Hinata’s apologizing to me? Why? Did I sound... angry to her?’ Naruto thought solemnly.
“It’s ok Hina-chan... What was that mission Granny?” Naruto asked.
“Your mission is to travel to the Land of Sound and find Sasuke. Bring him back, if possible.” Tsunade said firmly. Naruto smiled.
“Yahoo! Now I can wipe that frown off Sakura-chan’s face!” Naruto jumped in the air. ‘So... Naruto-kun still likes Sakura-chan?’ Hinata thought sadly. Tsunade motioned for them to leave and they obeyed. They packed their bags and left Konoha. Naruto took frequent side-glances at the clearly upset Hinata. After awhile, Naruto spoke.
“Hey, Hinata-chan, what’s wrong?” he asked bluntly. Hinata’s head shot up and she faced Naruto with a half-hearted smile.
“N-Nothing Naruto-kun... W-why do you ask....?” Hinata said. She knew she was a terrible liar.
“I know you’re lying Hinata... What’s wrong?” Naruto asked again. Hinata thought for a moment so she could piece together the words to use. Naruto spoke again.
“If it’s about what happened in the Hokage’s office, I’m sorry. I wasn’t angry at you, just a bit... confused.” Naruto said. Hinata shook her head furiously.
“N-No that’s not it... It’s... umm... D-do you still l-l-like Sakura-chan?” Hinata asked, waiting for a : ‘Why do you need to know?’ or a ‘Of course!’ from Naruto. She got the exact opposite.
“Nah... I’m over her. She was always so mean to me.” Naruto said, hands behind his head. “Why did you want to know, Hina-chan?”
“Umm...Ahh... I was just c-curious I suppose...” Hinata fidgeted around with her fingers, an old habit she wasn’t able to get rid of, it seemed. Naruto seemed to sense the doubt in her voice. He didn’t say anything this time, though. They arrived at the Land of Sound late in the evening.
“Oi! Hinata! Shouldn’t we set up camp for the night?” Naruto asked.
“Hai, N-Naruto-kun...” Hinata replied, stopping for a breath or two under a nearby tree. Naruto went through the bags and noticed that there was only one tent.
“Oi! Hinata, we only have one tent.” Naruto said, holding out the tent.
“Y-You can sleep in the tent... I-I’ll sleep under the stars...” Hinata whispered. Naruto got worried, but didn’t show it.
“Ok Hina-chan. Night!” Naruto said, crawling into the tent.
“Night...”Hinata whispered. When Naruto had fallen asleep, Hinata snuck away from camp...

Chapter 2- Who’s That?
Hinata snuck away from camp and looked back several times to see if Naruto had noticed her disappearance. Probably not Hinata kept telling herself, but she had been wrong before. When she stopped walking, she was in front of a towering waterfall... Let’s check on Naruto, shall we?
“Unn... I can’t sleep...” Naruto said drowsily. He poked his head out of the tent and looked around.
“Oi! Hina-chan? Where are you?” Naruto called, but got no response. This worried Naruto. He got out of the tent and looked around frantically before leaving the campsite to continue the search. Naruto kept calling Hinata’s name when he came to stop in front of a beautiful waterfall... A figure was moving in odd ways in the middle of the huge pond. Now, let’s split into different views. Hinata first...
Hinata’s POV
‘One, Two, Three...’ I thought silently. I moved my hands in every which way and performed a little dance, it seemed. I continued to train, when suddenly someone splashed into the pond on my left. I turned around quickly. It was Naruto! I quickly left, hoping Naruto didn’t know it was me.
Naruto’s POV
I walked closer to the pond and watched as the beautiful woman seemed to control the water.
“Amazing...” I whispered. Just then, I took a step. Then another. Then another. When I tried to walk another step, I slipped. This startled the girl and I tried to get up but she was gone. I wish I knew who she was...
Ok, back to my POV <3
Naruto walked back to camp and noticed someone tip-toeing toward camp. Naruto waited silently and acted asleep. It was Hinata! Where had she been? Looking for food? Naruto pretended to wake up.
“Oi... Hina-chan? Where have you been? Berry picking?” Naruto asked, not taking his mind off of the girl from the waterfall.
“Oh! U-umm... I was... training...” Hinata’s voice a whisper. This perked Naruto’s curiosity.
“What kind of training???” Naruto asked.
“Well... umm... Chakra training with water...” Hinata said a little louder. She didn’t want to give too much away.
“Were you at a waterfall by any chance? A very big one with a large pond at the bottom?” Naruto asked again. He figured he was pushing his luck.
“Umm... well...”
