I was forged by the fickle, molded by maniacs, manufactured by opportunists and put together by the most meaningless power-seekers in the world. I am a new breed. I am neither human nor beast. I have no real flesh and I most certainly do not have a heart. I am nothing more than a merciless computer, a cyborg if you will. I was created to be nothing more than a simple war machine that would follow the petty orders of man, my harsh commander. To my human “masters”, violence and blood and epic battles were the only methods of winning… They were mistaken. I, sadly, cannot say that I am not guilty of following in their footsteps. I could blame my upbringing, the way I was wired or something else of the sort. But, I will not. Blaming others is something humans do and I have already established that I am not human. I was created with an ability to choose, I was born with the right to free will and I have exercised that right.
This must be confusing to you, you cannot see my face, nor can you see the emotion that has been pasted upon it. To humans, it is known as sadness or loneliness. It is not like it matters to you, but if it is all the same, I would like to tell you a story, no, a memoir of epic proportions. A story of true horror and purity, evil and good. I am Cyborg Princess Akaaka. Translated, my name means “bright red”. What that means is all up to you…
I suppose this whole story started during the twenty-third century, in Japan. Most of the world was involved in World War III. It was a difficult time for humans and animals alike. The humans were paying trillions of dollars to build robot and cyborg armies. They all called it “un-manning the front lines”. It was all done because the world’s population had decreased immensely during the past century due to famine and war and disease. The animal populations have steadily decreased as well due to habitat damage and from eating carnage. Of course, the world was pretty much the same, except the more populous areas were not as crowded.
There were a few more differences, too. More environmentally friendly habits had been forcibly added to everyday life, cars no longer ran on oil and now hovered and ran on a large battery. These hovering cars were sleek and neon colored and moved along tracks in the sky, these tracks resembled a highway and were very colorful. Also, skyscrapers went much higher and were made of much more rubber to absorb shock from earthquakes. Suburbs were made of smaller housing units that were each perfect squares that were all built on a grid. Every so often you would find a small cal-de-sac. Most people wore traditional clothing now, they were in style, it was sort of a “retro” fad. That wasn’t the type of world I lived I, though.
I was isolated from most of the world. I was stuck inside an underground laboratory in Japan. That was where I was born, where all of us were born. Scientists and engineers would put us all together like a three-dimensional jigsaw puzzle. We were meant to be built with no emotion or free will, apparently they made an exception for me. I can only guess that I was built to be better than the rest of the cyborgs. I had what the other cyborgs did not; free will, emotion, strong armor, advanced weaponry, and a pretty face. Yes, even a pretty face. I got large, round black eyes. The eyes had to be larger so a mini-camera could be disguised within each the eyes. The skin given to me looked as pure as new white snow yet strong enough to stop a bullet. I ended up with very long blonde hair that was very light (almost white) for not apparent reason. My limbs were all long and slender and my reflexes were good. My torso was sort of small and hourglass shaped, I had no idea how that helped my fighting abilities.
Everyday I underwent tests of my strengths and mental abilities. Everyday, I became more and more bored. It was the same thing, every hours almost the same. I saw the same faces and machines over and over. Even though I had heard terrible stories of it, I wanted to go to war. It was a very bizarre wish but anyone in my position would wish for it too… I would think so. I was made for war, it was something much more fitting for me than this useless routine. The more that I think about it, my desire to fight was not my only reason to escape. There was someone I had to meet. His identity shall not be revealed to you… Just yet anyway. He was just someone I was interested in meeting.
Getting out was easy since everyday, twenty cyborgs were dispatched to go fight for the military. All I had to do was walk with the cyborgs being dispatched, an easy task considering that nobody counted the number of cyborgs leaving the laboratory.
[PART 1 COMPLETED! This part iz boring though. So sorry!!! First parts are like that. This will end up be more story/novel length, possibly light novel.
